Minecraft YouTuber Clay "Dream" recently hosted a broadcast on Twitch, addressing the ongoing drama involving former Dream SMP members Thomas "TommyInnit" and Tobias "Tubbo". The drama originated with Dream getting involved in the feud between Kick streamer xQc and TommyInnit by sharing a meme calling the fans of TommyInnit "r****ded".

Dream then made a Reddit post on r/DreamWasTaken2, addressing the backlash he was receiving for sharing a meme that used the "R-word". Subsequently, Tubbo went live on Twitch and comprehensively responded to Dream's Reddit post, while also claiming that he had felt uncomfortable due to "inappropriate" conversations taking place within the Dream SMP Discord server.

These allegations, as well as other aspects of the drama, were addressed by Dream in his broadcast. This article features five significant topics brought up by Dream in the Twitch livestream, the entirety of which can be found here.

5 significant things addressed by Dream on stream after the Tommyinnit drama

1) Clarified reason behind sharing "R-word" meme

Firstly, Dream clarified his reasoning behind sharing the meme which used the "R-word" to describe TommyInnit's fans. Claiming that he understood why people were upset, he stated that he did not mean to offend those with disabilities and rather aimed at attacking a part of Tommy's fanbase, which he claimed was a "congregation of the worst Dream SMP fans". He said:

"I understand why people would be upset by it and I had no intention of upsetting... disabled people. Now, that is not my intention. My intention was, you know, maybe not upsetting but I guess, attacking, part of Tommy's audience that still to the day are the congregation of the worst Dream SMP fans that are left standing. That all congregated to Tommy because he puts up with, and allows and supports people that spread lies and attack other creators."

2) Admitted that explicit images were shared in Dream SMP Discord in the presence of minors

Secondly, Dream also addressed the allegation made by Tubbo that the latter had been left feeling uncomfortable due to certain "inappropriate topics of discussion" floating around in the Dream SMP server. Confirming that an explicit image had been shared in a Dream SMP Discord channel that had Tubbo, who was a minor at the time, Dream said:

"In like one of the Dream SMP chats or whatever, there was like a fan art p**n image shown. Now, obviously, that's not something that should be shown regardless to anybody... But to give context, because I think it is important to this situation, is it was a bunch of Dream SMP people in a call looking at the fact that fans were drawing crazy art like that and making fun of it and being like, oh my god, this is crazy, this is disgusting."

Clarifying his role in the matter, he also stated:

"But first of all, it doesn't involve me other than the fact that obviously Dream SMP is my thing..."

3) Reacted to TommyInnit's implication that Dream got involved in the drama due to a mention of Donald Trump

Thirdly, Dream also reacted to TommyInnit's post on X, in which the latter implied that his mentioning Donald Trump had been the reason behind Dream's involvement in the feud between TommyInnit and xQc and his subsequently sharing the meme calling TommyInnit's fans the "R-word".

For those unaware, TommyInnit had labeled xQc as "cringe" for interacting with the US President-Elect in Adin Ross' collaborative broadcast. Clarifying his stance on Donald Trump and calling TommyInnit "disingenuous", Dream stated:

"Tommy knows my political point of view and Tommy knows my opinions and knows that this is just a lie and an attempt to get people to sh** on me, you know, for being a Trump supporter, and that's the reason I got involved when he knows that's not the case. He knows that I got involved because of my problems with him. He knows that I got involved because he's been shooting shots at me for a while... It's just disingenuous because he doesn't care about the fact that he's lying."

4) Responded to "manipulation" allegations owing to his messaging TommyInnit's mother in the past

The fourth major aspect of the drama addressed by Dream was the allegation that he had contacted TommyInnit's mother through a direct message and sent her a "massive essay" on why her son is "bad". This had been talked about by Tubbo in his recent Twitch broadcast as well. Dream reasoned his messaging TommyInnit's mother by claiming that she was "actively tweeting at people".

He claimed that his intention was to give his opinion since she was talking about a YouTube video made by TommyInnit, titled "If YouTubers Were Honest...", which made a mention of Dream. Talking about this in his broadcast, Dream said:

"She is on Twitter, actively tweeting at people, and I privately reach out, saying, 'Hey, just so you know, you're saying stuff about this video that involves me and you're interacting with my fans. Here is my opinion.' I think that is, in my mind, is very reasonable... The whole Brighton group, and Tommy and his friends used this like a way to say that I am some manipulative person... It's very disingenuous to imply that, in some way, me showing this message with her is manipulative."

5) Dream shows DM conversations with TommyInnit while live

Lastly, Dream also shared his private messages with TommyInnit, which depict him confronting the latter, starting by asking him if they were friends. Dream then stated that he does not feel that TommyInnit was his friend due to the British YouTuber "being a d**k to him" too many times under the guise of the behavior being an "accident". Dream wrote:

"Just doesn't feel like it. I try and justify it by you being younger or by you just trying to fit in or taking a character too far or whatever but that doesn't mean anything when it's just a repetitive pattern over and over... I feel like you being a d**k to me "on accident" has just happened far too many times for me to think that it's "on accident" and it just makes me think there's a lot more to it."

TommyInnit reacted to this by stating that he wants such DMs of him being "abit awkward" to not be leaked by "famous youtubers":

"I just want very famous youtubers i liked when i was 16 to stop leaking dms of me being abit awkward. is that too much to ask"

In his Twitch broadcast, Tubbo also addressed Dream's claim that TommyInnit had "no backbone". Conversely, Tubbo claimed that many members of the Dream SMP were "spineless" and stated that TommyInnit was not one as he cut off individuals he idolized, including Dream and Wilbur Soot, after finding out how they were "as actual people".
