Streamers have become a part of mainstream media over the past decade or so. Despite the challenge of being in an industry that is largely dominated by male streamers, there has been a host of female ones who have managed to make a name for themselves, breaking gender norms in the process.
A few of these female streamers, whether big or small, have also found themselves in various controversies. This article will list five such female streamers who have faded away from the limelight after facing contentious situations.
Here are 5 female streamers who have disappeared after controversies
1) MissQGemini
The first incident on this list involves Haley Germaine, better known as MissQGemini, who became infamously known for the "Clara" controversy in 2017. During a live stream of Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS: GO) on Twitch, MissQGemini inadvertently exposed herself as a cheater.
She used hacks (third-party software) while streaming. Realizing that all her viewers had seen the cheats, she quickly blamed it on "Clara," a fictional friend she infamously claimed had installed the software on her computer in the previous night. Since the controversy, she has disappeared and her Twitch channel is no longer available. Her Steam account was also banned.
2) BadBunny/KiraChats
The second name on the list is Nicole "BadBunny" who gained notoriety due to her Twitch streams in 2020. The female streamer found herself facing a lot of backlash due to her seemingly abrasive and toxic comments and behavior directed toward her viewers during some of her streams.
These comments were controversial considering she berated her viewers for not donating enough money. Following her outburst, several creators such as Penguinz0 (MoistCr1TiKaL) made videos documenting her actions, labeling her "greedy." Her Twitch account is no longer available, although she has a YouTube channel called KiraChats which is inactive.
3) JennaMarbles
Jenna Marbles' name is bound to ring a bell for those who have been following the content creation scene for over a decade. While not conventionally a streamer, she was one of the biggest female creators at the height of her popularity. However, in 2020, she announced that she would be stepping away from the internet.
She explained that she wanted to distance herself from some of her past controversial actions, such as attempting blackface makeup and imitating popular rapper Nicki Minaj. Since 2020, she has not uploaded a single video on her channel. However, she did marry Twitch streamer Julien Solomita in 2022.
4) ImJasmine
ImJasmine "ImJasmine" created her channel in 2019 and gained 1,000 followers after just her first stream. She rose to further prominence after appearing on "The Rajjchelor," alongside other contestants like Twitch streamers Dimitri "GreekGodx" and Hasan "HasanAbi." She soon began IRL streaming and even traveled to Japan, where she faced controversy after being harassed by a couple of local men on a beach.
ImJasmine also experienced a temporary ban from Twitch for sharing hot tub content, which sparked further controversy. However, she also spoke about her deteriorating mental health during this period. Over time, her content gradually diminished, and her Twitch channel has now been completely inactive for two years.
5) Pink_Sparkles/Izzy G
The last Twitch streamer on the list is Pink_Sparkles (Izzy G). She became a controversial figure due to her provocative content. For instance, she often wore inappropriate clothing that pushed the boundaries of Twitch's terms of service. As a result, she faced multiple bans from the platform.
Pink_Sparkles (Izzy G) also received significant attention due to her relationship with fellow Twitch streamer Zack "Asmongold." However, the couple is now broken up. Her Twitch account remains dormant, as she has shifted her focus primarily to adult content.
