The live-streaming platform Kick became a direct competitor to Twitch in 2022. After Stake.com launched the platform, many online creators from other platforms switched over. At the time, creators were attracted to Kick because of the platform's creator rights, revenue-sharing model, and how liberal the streaming policies are on the website.
In terms of content regulation, Kick is indeed more liberal than Twitch. While Twitch has increasingly tightened its content guidelines, particularly around sensitive topics like gambling, hate speech, and sexually suggestive content, Kick has taken a more hands-off approach.
This has led to the platform being perceived as a "wild west" of streaming, where content that might be banned or heavily restricted on Twitch can find a home. Because Kick allows creators to push their limits, we often see them on the wrong side of the law, getting arrested on stream due to their outlandish antics. This article will look at five such Kick streamers who were arrested.

1) Vitaly
Vitaly is a Russian-American Kick streamer who started his career on YouTube where he would make prank videos and conduct 'social experiments'. Over his career, the 32-year-old has encountered law enforcement numerous times, especially when he was younger, and still on YouTube.
In 2014, for example, Vitaly gained international attention when he ran onto the field during the FIFA World Cup final between Germany and Argentina in Brazil. With the words "Natural Born Prankster" painted on his chest, his stunt was broadcast live to millions of viewers worldwide. Brazilian authorities arrested him shortly after the incident.
On Kick, Vitaly has taken a surprising turn and tasked himself with "catching predators", which is a series on his channel where he hunts child predators and turns them to law enforcement. This is ironic, considering his previous stints with the law.
That being said, Vitaly has faced legal challenges during his Kick career. In June 2024, he was sued by a man featured in one of his "Catching Predators" videos. The lawsuit, which included 17 counts, accused Vitaly and his team of physical and mental abuse during the confrontation, leading to serious allegations of misconduct.
2) N3on
Rangesh "N3on" is a 20-year-old Kick streamer whose highlights usually come from IRL streams.
In April 2024, N3on found himself in serious legal trouble in Dubai. During an IRL stream at the Global Village theme park, N3on and his girlfriend, Sam Frank, were arrested for filming without the necessary permits, a serious offense in the United Arab Emirates. Authorities took swift action and the streamer spent about 37 hours in jail.
Besides this, while streaming with Squeez Benz, an internet personality known for dangerous driving, N3on was involved in a hit-and-run accident that led to a brief suspension of N3on’s Kick account.
3) MrBasedNYC
Jason "MrBasedNYC", a highly controversial Kick streamer, was reported by The New York Times in 2012 to have faced serious legal troubles. He was indicted on multiple charges, including drug-related offenses, promoting prostitution, and money laundering. Ultimately, the judge sentenced him to four years in prison for these crimes.
In August 2024, MrBasedNYC also allegedly assaulted a small YouTuber named Alex Novell, which has gained significant traction on social media. Photos of Alex's injured face have circulated widely on platforms like X, drawing considerable public attention.
4) IcePosiedon
In September 2023, controversial Kick streamer Paul "Ice Poseidon" and his group were detained live on stream in Australia, with police citing allegations of sexual assault as the reason for their detainment. The arrest sparked outrage among his fans, who expressed their displeasure with law enforcement's actions.
Ice Poseidon reportedly paid a local man to hire an escort and then placed hidden cameras in the room to film the encounter. The streamer was waiting just outside the room. However, during a moment when the escort and the local man were kissing, the escort was informed about the hidden cameras and decided to leave the room. This incident ultimately led to the detainment.
Paul and his group also made headlines after they were kicked out of a Bangkok restaurant and later arrested by Thai police for inappropriate conduct. Viewers shared clips of the incident, showing the IRL content creator giving lap dances in the restaurant's lounge area.
5) Johnny Somali
Ramsey Khalid Ismael, also known as "Johnny Somali," is one of the most controversial streamers in the industry. He has been arrested and reportedly deported from Japan due to his disruptive behavior, earning him a notorious reputation in the live-streaming community.
In one particular incident, despite knowing the cultural significance of the Western Wall, also known as the Wailing Wall in Israel, which is a sacred site for the Jewish community, the streamer controversially displayed images of Adin Ross, Jeffrey Epstein, and Harvey Weinstein on the wall. Authorities took notice of this and proceeded to arrest him.
This wasn't the first time he was arrested in Israel though. After disrespecting a local police officer, he was allegedly attacked and arrested by Israeli law enforcement. All these incidents combined led Johnny Somali to be permanently banned from Kick.
