Popular streamer Herschel "Guy" Beahm, aka Dr DisRespect, is best known for his stoic and composed persona in front of the camera. With his all-red hat, sunglasses, mustache, mullet, and serious character, the streamer is one of the best in business when it comes to being in character as long as the camera is on. However, even the expert is bound to break at times.
This creator's alter ego allows him to keep his on-screen self and his real personality separate. However, in moments of anger, joy, grief, and even frustration, the person behind the Dr DisRespect peaks through, much to the amusement of fans. With that in mind, here are some of the most notable times he broke character.

1) When the streamer confessed to being unfaithful to his wife
In December 2017, Beahm took a break from streaming after confessing to cheating on his wife. In a stream from December 15, he broke his usually calm demeanor. With teary eyes, he said:
"Kinda have a little bit of announcement. I just want to be completely transparent with you guys. As you guys know that I have a beautiful family and a wife and a kid, and I wanna be transparent that I have been unfaithful."
Following the confession, he announced a small departure from content-making, taking some time to focus on his marriage and family. He said:
"I'm going to take time off to focus on my family and so, I just wanted to let you guys know that, and I apologize to you guys, my sponsors, and Twitch. This is not who I am, it's not what I represent."
After a break of two months, the streamer returned on February 5, 2018.
2) When the doc lost a bet
During his YouTube broadcast on March 22, 2023, Dr DisRespect broke character while trying to distract a rival PGA Tour 2K23 player, as the latter was getting ready for a challenging chip from the rough around the putting green. Around four hours and 33 minutes into the broadcast, the streamer said that he would pay the player $100 "right now" if he made the shot.
His opponent first asked:
"You promise?"
Then, the individual went on to make the shot anyway. Beahm struggled to contain his laughter for a few minutes before regaining his composure.
3) When discussing his Twitch ban
In June 2020, Dr DisRespect was banned from Twitch for undisclosed reasons. No explanation was provided by Twitch, which offended many streamers. Beahm himself was visibly shaken by the ordeal.
In his last Twitch stream ever, he let his "macho" character take a step back. Breaking down a little, he said:
"I appreciate everyone watching today. We’ll get through this Champions Club. I know it’s tough, life’s weird right now. We’ll get through this okay. And uh…f**k.”
Dr DisRespect moved on to YouTube after that and currently has 4.70 million subscribers.
4) After facing major tech issues
The streamer seemingly lost his patience during a livestream in November 2021, after struggling with a series of computer issues, which forced him to stop playing a game.
In the video titled IT HAPPENED AGAIN, Dr DisRespect spent more than 10 minutes talking about the technical issues, with several profanities thrown in.
He said:
“I booted up my monitor, andtit took a dump. This f*cking computer has been blue-screening all morning long. It might be time for an upgrade.”
The streamer then added:
“I thought a $150,000 PC would be enough. I guess I’ve got to spend more.”
It was after 10 minutes of attempting to fix the issue that the doc was finally able to launch PUBG. He said:
“You’ve got to have a little bit of patience when working with the two-time.”
5) When his house was shot at while he streamed on Twitch
One of the most shocking times Herschel "Guy" Beahm broke character has to be when the streamer’s house was shot at in a drive-by while he was streaming live on Twitch.
In a video from September 12, 2018, a gunshot is heard around the 2:25 mark. The streamer goes to investigate the noise later in the video, after which the viewers are told that someone shot at his house and broke a window. He claimed his house had been shot at the day before as well.
In other news, Dr DisRespect recently revealed that he had turned down an offer of $10 million per year to join the streaming platform, Kick, because it wasn't "enough."
