Twitch streamer Zack "Asmongold" has been feuding with tech mogul Elon Musk on X. The latter even posted a private conversation he had with the former on X. The atypical interaction between the two began following the recent Path of Exile 2 controversy surrounding Elon Musk.
For those unaware, Musk has been streaming Path of Exile 2 on X. After a recent livestream on January 7, 2025, a Redditor alleged his account shows some suspicious signs suggestive of outsider help. As per them, Elon's account has attained certain gear that would typically require thousands of hours of grind within weeks of the game's release.
Relations between the two seemed to have soured after Asmongold made a video covering this controversy. This article explores the series of interactions the two have had since then through a collective barrage of posts on X.

Exploring the timeline of the Asmongold vs Elon Musk feud
The feud began with Asmongold making a YouTube video on January 10, 2025, titled Massive Elon Musk Scandal. In it, Asmongold covered the controversy surrounding Elon Musk's PoE 2 gameplay. He also covered the matter extensively on his Twitch broadcasts, going as far as to say the following during one of them:
"There is no way he played that account. I'm sorry. I think he bought the account or somebody played it for him a hundred f**king percent."
During a broadcast on January 15, 2025, Asmongold was reacting to posts made on his official subreddit, when he was informed that Elon Musk had unfollowed the streamer on X. Asmongold then claimed that this may have been due to his video covering the PoE 2 controversy:
"'Elon unfollowed Asmon. 'He's probably not happy about the PoE video. He'll get over it. Listen, it was so obvious! You cannot get mad at me for bringing this up. Everybody was talking about this! Come on, man! Come on! What is this? 'He responded about it.' You know what's really funny about it... is I saw that. Let me see if I can pull it up and find it."
Replying to ax X post made by a YouTuber named Screamheart involving an excerpt of Asmongold critiquing Musk's gameplay, the tech mogul was seen calling out Asmongold on January 16, 2024:
"Asmon behaves like a maverick “independent”, but in reality has to ask his boss for permission before he can do anything. He is not his own man."
Accompanying this was another post by Elon Musk, which was a screenshot of the conversation the two had on X direct messages. In it, Elon Musk seemed to be enquiring about Asmongold's editors, with the streamer explaining the system he maintains with these editors for sharing revenue.
Further, Elon Musk posted a video of himself supposedly completing a "world record Diablo AoZ clear." When an X user praised the billionaire, Musk replied that he had played live alongside the "world's best players" in the past. Furthermore, he claimed Asmongold was good at "caustic commentary" but "not good" at video games. The streamer responded to this through an X post of his own, stating Musk's remarks were "absolutely uncalled for."
