Ava Kris Tyson (formerly known as Chris Tyson), a prominent member of YouTube star Jimmy "MrBeast's" crew, recently found herself in the spotlight after grooming allegations were made against her. The situation arose after a few YouTubers posted videos about the 28-year-old, accusing her of inappropriate behavior involving a minor. She was also called out for seemingly supporting the work of controversial cartoonist Shadman.
In this article, we'll go over the controversy in depth, looking at what sparked it and how the events have unfolded so far.
Ava Kris Tyson controversy: YouTubers accuse the content creator of buying art from Shadman and alleged inappropriate behavior with a 13-year-old
It all started on July 21, 2024, when Redditor u/ExcaliburUmbraREEE took to the r/YouTubeDrama subreddit to highlight videos uploaded by YouTubers Adrox and Acheeto. Here's what they wrote in the post:
"Acheeto pushes Adrox's transphobic hit piece against Ava Kris Tyson, suspecting her of being a lolicon and associate of known CP artist Shadman. Demands that Mr. Beast and Ava must respond for her "disgusting behavior."
In the video titled It's Over for Kris Tyson, Acheeto reacted to Adrox's YouTube video, This Video Will Make You Hate Kris Tyson.
At the seven-minute, 25-second mark, Acheeto commented on Tyson's tweet from November 18, 2017, in which she claimed to own a Shadman art piece. He remarked:
"So this guy, Kris Tyson, goes on Twitter and admits to have purchased this pedophile's artwork. This is insane! The fact that he doesn't see anything wrong with it, too, is almost in a lot of ways more frightening. Because it's one thing to know that it's wrong and then to still do it because, at least, that you have a moral. You know? A little voice telling you, 'Hey, don't do it.' This guy is like, 'Yeah, this is awesome! Yeah, I own artwork of this guy in my living room. Artwork that he has produced, of a little child.'"
Acheeto went on to say that Ava Kris Tyson should be "investigated":
"This person needs to be investigated. I genuinely think Kris Tyson, this is incredibly damning. Like, to be in any way tied with this person."

On July 22, 2024, YouTuber Prism42's video, Chris Tyson Talked Inappropriately to a 13-Year-Old, went viral on social media platforms such as X and Reddit. As the title suggests, Prism42 alleged that Ava Kris Tyson met with a 13-year-old individual during a MrBeast giveaway.
At the 22-minute mark, Prism42 showed a screenshot of a Discord conversation and an Instagram photo of Tyson, Karl Jacobs, and the alleged 13-year-old.
He said:
"Here is the picture of them meeting up together. I'm going to censor his face, and as you can see there - there's Karl right there, there is Kris Tyson right there. Kris Tyson is talking to this guy since he was 13. Kris Tyson was in college, and of course, the moment he was able to drive, he takes a camper van out in the middle of the woods, which by the way is a very secluded area."

Keemstar chimes in on the controversy
On July 22, 2024, Drama Alert host Daniel "Keemstar" took to X to claim that MrBeast "connected him directly" with "Lava," the person Ava Kris Tyson allegedly met with when they were 13 years old.
Keemstar posted:
"MrBeast connected me directly to Lava, the alleged Kris Tyson groomed victim. Lava, 'I was not groomed by Kris Tyson.' Lava, 'I did not meet Kris Tyson by myself I met Kris and the MrBeast crew with my family present.' Lava, 'I ran a Discord with Kris Tyson when I was 13, and edgy inappropriate jokes were said that’s it.'"
The next day (July 23, 2024), Keemstar accused Tyson of "supporting" Shadman. Claiming it was a "known fact," the Lolcow Live podcast host stated that he and Tyson "had a conversation" a month ago.
He elaborated:
"Kris Tyson supported the Cartoon CP artist Shadman that drew my daughter at age 8 in a sexual manner. This is a known fact. Privately me and Kris Tyson even had a conversation about this roughly a month ago. And it still upsets me. This is not misinformation. This is a fact."
On July 22, 2024, Lava tweeted that Acheeto's aforementioned YouTube video was a "massive lie" and "twisted the truth." They claimed Ava Kris Tyson did nothing wrong and "just made a few edgy jokes." They also stated they were "never exploited or taken advantage of."
