The highly anticipated Beast Games produced by YouTube superstar Jimmy "MrBeast" in collaboration with Amazon Studios, has become controversial as numerous contestant allegations have surfaced, painting a troubling picture of the production. The show is supposed to host 2000 contestants, who face a series of challenges to win the title.

Billed as one of the largest reality competition shows ever, with a $5 million prize and thousands of contestants, Beast Games was to be a groundbreaking venture. However, reports of mismanagement, safety concerns, and unethical practices have overshadowed this ambitious project.

The following is a list of all major allegations faced by MrBeast's show, Beast Games.

Allegations of mismanagement and poor conditions

One of the most significant issues raised by contestants involves the alleged mismanagement and dangerous conditions on set. Reports suggest that the production team was overwhelmed by the scale of the project, with thousands of participants needing to be managed in a high-pressure environment.

Contestants have claimed that the show was ill-prepared to handle such a large group, leading to disorganized and unsafe conditions. YouTuber, Rosanna Pansino, has been active in covering all the controversy surrounding the show. She has advocated for the participants' allegations and has amplified their voices through her channel, which has over 14.5 million subscribers.

According to testimonials she received from participants, there were cases of seizures, lack of medical supplies, and multiple injuries on set which ultimately led to the hospitalization of some participants.

Participants reported being denied necessities such as adequate food and water, with one meal reportedly consisting of a small portion of cold oatmeal, a hard-boiled egg, and a few pieces of raw vegetables.

According to participant responses in an article from Vital Vegas written by Scott Roeben, the 2000 participants present were introduced to a single doctor and psychologist. Many claimed that the medical representation on set was highly disproportionate:

"We were introduced to ONE doctor... for 2000 people? That was stupid. Especially because y'all allowed people WITH medical conditions to play, production should not have allowed that [in my opinion].", said user '358' under the article.

Additionally, contestants were asked to provide the production team with a Ziploc bag containing five days' worth of undergarments, which were supposed to be distributed once the games began. However, several participants reported waiting hours, or even days, to receive their clean underwear. A few contestants state they are yet to receive their undergarments from MrBeast's team.

Investigation and public relations

The MrBeast PR team attempted to deflect the allegations, sidestepping any responsibility. In a statement cited by The New York Times, they attributed the problems to unforeseen challenges, including a major cybersecurity breach, severe weather disruptions, and a series of logistical and communication breakdowns.

A few participants claimed they were fed two meals a day in small portions. The spokesperson from MrBeast's team denounced these claims, stating that participants were fed well enough, three times a day.

The PR team then said a formal investigation would be conducted to "learn from this experience."

Unsafe filming conditions

In another video on her channel, Rosanna read a testimonial where a participant witnessed multiple injuries during filming. The challenges resulted in moshpits, seizures, and other medical emergencies.

Adding to this, the filming schedule was grueling, with much of the shooting taking place overnight. Contestants struggled to find a place to sleep during the day, as no suitable rest areas were provided. This lack of rest, combined with the physically demanding nature of the challenges, led to extreme exhaustion among participants.

Participants allegedly spent five hours in garbage bags to keep filming a secret and conceal show uniforms. These bags were later discarded at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.

Unfair group representation

When MrBeast's show opened up for registration, it was under the notion that anybody could apply. The website for the show, beastgames.com, had an application form without any age restriction.

As seen in the participant reports, the games in the show were centered around "speed and strength," but some teams had more athletic individuals and others were disadvantaged in that aspect.

Some of the games were reportedly so physically demanding that they seemed designed to favor young, athletic men over other participants, leading to injuries.

Accusations of unethical practices

Rosanna discussed The New York Times report, stating that many participants signed up for the show to make life-changing money that would settle debt and solve medical problems. She mentioned that MrBeast hosting participants under such conditions, knowing their intentions, is unfair and "cheap."

"This is a part that seems small, but it really bothers me because it's obvious that they're just trying to film people's reactions of like 'What!', but you're really messing with people's lives and people who may really need money. A lot of the contestants that I talked to... they signed up for the show not because it sounded super fun but because they really needed the money... to really change their lives."

Participants also described the show as a "rigged" competition. Some contestants accused the show of offering hush money to players who raised concerns about their treatment or the conditions on set. Reportedly, some were offered $1,000, with an additional $1,000 promised later, in exchange for their silence about the problems they encountered during filming.

In the video above, Rosanna spoke about participants not receiving their medication on time. The New York Times report stated one contestant was initially refused the food she needed to take her medication and was told by staff that it wasn't necessary. After repeatedly asking, she was finally given half a banana.

"Why is MrBeast's production casting people who need specific medication and specific food and then not giving it to them?"

MrBeast’s Response and Fallout

In response to these allegations, MrBeast and his team acknowledged the challenges faced during the production but attributed many of the issues to unforeseen circumstances, such as extreme weather and technical difficulties.

MrBeast as a YouTuber has consistently advocated for human rights, the environment, and equality. The situation with Beast Games completely contradicts Jimmy's character he portrays on his channel.

As Beast Games moves forward with its remaining rounds of filming, the production team faces the challenge of addressing these issues and restoring confidence in the show.
