Steven Kenneth Bonnell II, known by his alias Destiny, is easily among the most polarizing figures in the world of streaming today. The streamer has made quite a few controversial comments during his online career and has engaged in numerous feuds within this period.

In 2024 alone, quite a few controversies have made him feature in the streaming headlines. We explore five such occasions when the political commentator found himself in such situations.

5 times Destiny found himself in a controversy this year

1) Made contentious remarks on Trump's assassination attempt

One of the recent occasions when Destiny found himself in a controversy was just last week. For context, Destiny mentioned that he couldn't bring himself to "chastise" those who were celebrating the recent assassination attempt on Trump during one of his rallies in Pennsylvania.

This topic became a heated debate during a show hosted by Piers Morgan just days after Destiny made such quarrelsome comments. The streamer is, of course, vocal against the far-right community of supporters, and the debate ended up going viral after being uploaded to YouTube.

2) Gets banned by Kick

His comments on the Trump situation didn't quite end there. Given the sensitive nature of the incident, his remarks were likely deemed harmful. For instance, he also made some offensive remarks about a firefighter who was present in the crowd on the day of the rally and was killed.

The Stake.com-backed streaming platform Kick, where he primarily broadcasts, has also decided to suspend him. His channel went offline on July 17, 2024. At the time of writing, it's unclear whether the suspension is permanent.

3) Called out by Elon Musk

Destiny's comments on Trump also attracted a wave of criticism from the online community. The streamer went ahead and made a post on his X account, stating that he would buy his supporters front-row tickets to Trump's next rally, insinuating that if there is another shooting attempt, they might be exposed to it:

Surprisingly, this was seen by none other than the owner of X.com, Elon Musk. The X Corp founder responded to one of the posts regarding Destiny's comments and suggested that he would pull ads from the streamer's account. He wrote:

"You're right, this is not appropriate content for advertisers."

4) Accused Boogie2988 of faking his cancer

Moving on from the streamer's controversies involving Trump, he also accused fellow streamer and creator Boogie2988 was faking his cancer. He challenged Boogie2988 to provide proof of his diagnosis, stating:

"He is absolutely lying! What a piece of s**t. Unless he posts something in here to prove it wrong. He is faking it. Faking it. Faking it! Yep, sue me. Sue me!"

On July 11, 2024, he collaborated with xQc during one of his podcasts to further discuss the situation with Boogie2988, calling out the latter over his attempts to claim that taking testosterone hormones would develop polycythemia, which he argued it wouldn't.

5) Making controversial comments about HasanAbi

The last controversy in the list stems from his contentious comments on HasanAbi, a Twitch streamer and political commentator. The two have had previous feuds. However, Hasan recently defended Frogan for using the word "cr*cker" in one of his streams. In response, Destiny lashed out:

"I've never wanted to see somebody get hurt so badly in my life. I'll say this a million times, but maybe, people don't understand or maybe Hasan... I truly can't tell if he doesn't understand or if he's just so blinded by the clout and the hate. Okay?"

Destiny added that even at his most edgy, he never defended calling someone a slur. Interestingly, neither Frogan nor HasanAbi was given any suspension from Twitch.
