FaZe Clan members Nick "Lacy" and Rani "Stable Ronaldo" have once again found themselves in the headlines. The organization's creators, such as Silky, Jasontheween, and Plaqueboymax, are currently engaged in a month-long subathon. Naturally, these creators have garnered several clip-worthy moments in this period.
One clip that has gone viral is from Lacy's stream earlier today (September 27, 2024), wherein the streamer smacked fellow FaZe member Stable Ronaldo right across his face. This was followed by some heated exchange of words. However, some fans have called out the clip, suggesting it was merely a fake, clip-farming moment.
Did FaZe Lacy really smack Stable Ronaldo? Exploring the clip
FaZe Clan members Lacy and Stable Ronaldo are notorious for their 'clip-farming' antics. For those unfamiliar with the term, it refers to when individuals intentionally exaggerate or stage scenarios to generate more clicks or views online.
Today's viral moment from Lacy's stream follows a similar pattern. There was no real fight or slap, the clip was simply staged for views. This becomes clear just seconds before the supposed incident occurs.
Seconds before, fellow FaZe Clan member Alexander "Adapt" can be clearly heard saying that "for the clip," Lacy should smack Stable Ronaldo, and he and Jasontheween would then break it up. He said:
"For the clip, you guys should (feign the fight) and then we (Adept and Jasontheween) should break it up."
In fact, moments before the slap, Lacy can also be heard saying:
"Chat, get ready for the clip."
Adept chimed in, stating:
"Re-start the cutscene."

Another angle of the same scene was filmed from Jasontheween's IRL stream, indicating that the entire scenario was indeed staged and there wasn't any real malice behind the so-called slap:
Not the first time Stable Ronaldo was slapped
While the latest clip of Lacy hitting Stable Ronaldo may have been just a clip-farming instance, Lacy has previously been genuinely slapped by a well-known creator.
Back in June 2024, Stable Ronaldo visited fitness influencer and content creator Bradley Martyn's gym. At one point, Ronaldo trolled Martyn by taking his cap, which angered Martyn, leading him to slap Ronaldo in the face.
Despite the heated moment, Stable Ronaldo later admitted that while hitting him wasn’t right, he acknowledged that taking Martyn's hat was disrespectful. He added:
"I don't think he should have slapped me. I'm sure he regrets it. Maybe regret is not the right word but wishes he didn't do that. But technically we went to his spot where we collabed with him and we disrespected him by taking off his hat. I mean he has the right to do what he wants."
The FaZe members are currently enjoying one of their most productive periods, thanks to their subathon. For instance, Lacy currently has 41K subs, Stable Ronaldo has 52K, and Plaqueboymax leads with 70K.
