Jason "Thor," also known as "Pirate Software," is a well-known Twitch streamer, who is popular for software and game development, science and technology, and gaming content. He joined the Amazon-owned livestreaming platform in March 2017 and has since amassed over 1.25 million followers on his channel.

According to Pirate Software's Twitch bio, before starting his career as an internet personality, he previously worked at Blizzard Entertainment, Amazon Games Studio, and the United States Department of Energy.

In addition to his content, Pirate Software is also popular for his deep voice. In a YouTube Shorts video posted on December 4, 2023, Jason cited a doctor who claimed that he had gone through a "second puberty," causing his voice to change significantly.

While showing a five-year-old Twitch clip, the content creator stated:

"Went back to the doctor, and the doctor is like, 'Hey, sometimes, in your early 30s, your voice can change as a man. And, it's effectively the second puberty.' This is what I used to sound like. That's what I used to look like, too. This is five years ago. Wait for this, this is awful (The streamer plays the video, and his voice has a significantly different tone). Yeah! Yeah, that was it, dude!"

What has Pirate Software said in response to those claiming that he uses a "voice changer"?

In another YouTube Shorts video posted on October 13, 2024, Pirate Software responded to those alleging that he uses a "voice changer." While making a lighthearted remark about the situation, the former game developer spoke about giving a speech after winning an award at The Streamer Awards 2024, saying:

"I think my favorite thing is the anti-fanbase. Like, there is an anti-fanbase out there that's like, 'He uses a voice changer, and I'm going to find out eventually.' And then, it's like, I go to The Streamer Awards, and I won a Streamer Award, and they're like, 'They used a voice changer right there when he touched the microphone. That's when they turned it on.'"

Pirate Software then stated that he would joke about using a voice changer when using a microphone at an event:

"And then, I go to TwitchCon, and they're like, 'He's also got control of that microphone.' And then I'll do an in-person interview, and they're like, 'Clearly, that was a voice changer as well. He's got it hidden in his neck.' So, what I'm going to start doing, at this point, is every time I am talking through a microphone, I'm going to be like (The streamer fiddles his livestream mic) and start talking through it. Or I'll be like, 'Oh s**t! I forgot to use the voice changer. Sorry about that.' You know?"

On January 13, 2025, Pirate Software became embroiled in some massive World of Warcraft Classic Hardcore drama when two OnlyFangs guildmates died in-game while progressing through the Dire Maul North dungeon.
