YouTube star and online personality Jimmy "MrBeast" (307 million subscribers) appears to have found himself in yet another controversy. Following the turbulent period involving the situation around Ava Kris Tyson (one of Jimmy's ex-crew members and long-time associate), a new set of allegations has surfaced on the internet.

For context, on July 24, 2024, a YouTuber named DogPack404 (63.1K subscribers), who also happens to be a former member of MrBeast's team, uploaded an hour-long video sharing some pieces of evidence, alleging that Jimmy fakes some of his videos on YouTube.

What are the allegations against MrBeast? Exploring DogPack404's video

YouTuber DogPack404 recently uploaded a comprehensive video alleging that some videos on the MrBeast channel are fake or use CGI. Let's look at some of the major allegations made in this video.

The YouTuber claims that some of the videos have clear discrepancies. For instance, in the video 7 Days Stranded At Sea, he pointed out that at one point, the tent in the shaft was empty, but after a post-edit cut, people suddenly appeared coming from outside the tent, with two of them wearing raincoats.

There are other instances where he claimed that MrBeast's team adds timers before the upload (in videos that require timers), manipulates dialogues, adds dialogues post-edit, and even made a fake lie detector video.

Another allegation was from the 100 Boys Vs 100 Girls For $500,000 video, where he claimed that MrBeast purposely made the competition close. He alleged that one of MrBeast's team members said it would be a PR disaster if the boys won by a large margin.

The YouTuber also claimed that MrBeast hosts fake competitions and giveaways, criticizing him for asking viewers to subscribe to win prizes like phones. He argued this is misleading, especially since many of MrBeast's viewers are children who take his words literally.

Another allegation involved a now-deleted giveaway livestream where buyers were promised signed MrBeast shirts. It was observed that one of Jimmy's team members was signing the "MB" initials on the shirts instead of Jimmy himself.

MrBeast's chocolate brand, Feastables, was also a contentious point in DogPack404's video. He highlighted how Jimmy marketed it as a healthier option compared to other chocolate brands, but in reality, it contains a lot of sugar.

The YouTuber stated how Jimmy has, in the past, spoken about the health issues related to Americans (particularly obesity). However, Jimmy also appears to promote his chocolate brand through giveaways and other formats of promotion (such as promising to give $10K to select winners). These winners were taken from people who purchased Feastables.

MrBeast employee Chucky responds to the allegations

One of MrBeast's employees, Chucky (@Chucky), responded to the allegations by DogPack404 with a detailed post on his X account, addressing some of the accusations.

For instance, DogPack404 alleged that many of the participants in Jimmy's videos are either the YouTuber's circle of friends or friends of MrBeast's crew members:

"Think the 456 people in the Squid Game, or ages 1 - 100, etc. Jimmy doesn’t know more then like a dozen people lol."

Chucky also responded to the allegations about the 100 Boys Vs 100 Girls For $500,000 video. He revealed that some of MrBeast's crew members participated because some of the original participants couldn’t make it due to COVID. He wrote:

"He also implies the video is fake because we have some employees on each team. The employees in the video were there to fill in for people who tested positive for covid last minute right before filming."

He also briefly addressed the allegations involving the giveaways, stating that they are authentic:

"We do not fake giveaways, I have been hands on with some of them and have personally been the person to connect winners with our accounting department to get paid."

Does MrBeast fake his videos?

From both sides' stories (DogPack404 and Chucky), it is currently unclear and inconclusive whether MrBeast has indeed faked his videos on YouTube or broken any laws.

Based on the evidence provided in the YouTube video, it appears that some aspects require further explanation from MrBeast's side. However, other claims are based on speculation and word of mouth. Therefore, it is too early to conclude whether he has indeed faked his videos.

Right now, it’s unclear if MrBeast will address the situation. This isn’t the first time he has been accused of faking his videos. In 2023, Rosanna Pansino claimed she was edited out of a competition video.
