Kai Cenat was born on December 16, 2001, in New York City. The 22-year-old native grew up alongside three siblings, which included two brothers and a sister. He started uploading content online even before officially starting YouTube. Kai started his content creation journey on Instagram and Facebook, uploading short-form comedic content. His first post on Facebook was made when he was just 13.
Eventually, he would start creating content on YouTube in 2018, uploading his first video on the platform on January 14 of the same year. Kai Cenat's initial videos were focused on producing prank and challenge-related content, involving him trying out the "world's hottest pepper" ringing the bell of dorm rooms in his college, and running away.
Apart from this, he would also upload "Storytime" content, giving his audience insider information about his personal life experiences. Soon enough, Kai found his first taste of fame on YouTube, with the second part of his college "ding-dong ditch" challenge going viral and reaching much higher viewership as compared to his other videos at the time.
Kai Cenat dropped out of college in 2020 to focus entirely on his YouTube career. In mid-2020, he became the last person to join the Any Means Possible (AMP) group through existing member Roberto "Fanum."
