YouTube streamer Darren "IShowSpeed" is no stranger to controversies. One such incident occurred in April 2022. For context, the streamer was streaming Valorant, a game that he occasionally played at that time. During the gameplay, he had a verbal spat with one of his teammates, during which, another teammate, a female player, chimed in to speak on the streamer's performance.
An already agitated Speed ended up launching a rather caustic rant against the female player. While the online community was well aware of his past tirades, this one in particular was considered a step too far. The streamer, during his Valorant stream, said this:
"(Speaking to the female teammate) What? What, b*tch! Is a b*tch talking to me? Is a female talking to me? Am I tripping? Time out, is a female talking to me? Is a f**king female talking to me? Get off the f**king game and do your husband's dishes. Shut up! F**k you!"
IShowSpeed gets banned from Valorant following his toxic rant against a female player
IShowSpeed's tirade didn’t go unnoticed, as clips of his so-called toxic rant quickly spread across social media platforms. One post, shared by Jake Lucky (@JakeSucky), drew significant attention and even received a response from Sara Dadafshar (@npcSara), who was, at the time, a Valorant and Riot Games employee.
Sara highlighted that the company does not condone such behavior and revealed that IShowSpeed had been "perma banned" from the game due to his antics. She wrote:
"This is a huge yikes and we do not want players like this in our community at all. I went ahead and perma banned this player from VALORANT, as well as all other Riot Games."

IShowSpeed responded to the drama
IShowSpeed took to his social media on April 7, 2022, to address the controversy and apologize for his behavior. The streamer explained that he hadn't been in the best of moods, as he had been receiving racist text-to-speech messages during his stream:
"I wasn’t having a good day, you know? I was getting a lot of racist text-to-speech, donations, a lot of people talking about my dead aunt that’s in the grave right now."
He added that he was wrong for saying such things and took full responsibility:
"I don’t want to make that no excuse, I’m wrong. Know what I’m saying? I’m not trying to justify. I don’t just bash on people for no reason, that’s where I’m coming from that."

He also stated that he is in a "growing" phase and will change in the future. He said:
"I’m not trying to justify it. I’m completely wrong in that situation right there. I’m young. Every situation I grow and I change. That is not me no more. I apologize to that girl - if that girl wants to hit me up and say anything, I’d love to hear her out.”
Despite the permanent ban, IShowSpeed's ban was later lifted, as he was seen streaming himself playing the game again. However, his streams rarely feature him playing that game anymore. These days, he is more focused on games like EA FC 25 and various horror titles.
