Twitch streamer Kai Cenat and Adin Ross (still with Twitch at that time) have had their fair share of criticism in the past. One such incident occurred during their joint stream back in November 2022. The stream in question ended up stirring some controversy after both creators were accused of transphobia.

In the stream, the two creators invited a couple of women (for an e-date) but the two ended up joking about whether they were men. After the two women had joined in the call, Adin Ross chimed in, hinting that they were talking to men (or trans women). He was heard saying:

"Wait, that might be (laughing)..."

Kai later added, stating that one of the girls had a deep voice, insinuating that she might have been a trans woman:

"Yo, her voice is deep. Her voice is deep as f**k."

This specific incident from November 2022 caused a stir at the time, particularly within the r/LivestreamFail community. This prompted a swift response from the streamer. He took to his stream and clarified that he said "add 'em back" which, he believes, got misinterpreted as "add him back." The streamer said:

"I didn't say, 'Add him back.' You can hear me and then, look, this is how you know I said 'Add 'em back.' Because look, I said 'Add 'em,' and I said, 'Add her back.' Look."

Kai Cenat added, stating that he is not transphobic:

"I just want to see what people saying, bro. Oh my god, bro. Half of the comments are missing out. Yeah, she's a girl, by the way. She's a girl. Yo, I'm not anything. Yo, chat, look. I'm not anything phobic. Like, I'm not. I swear, I literally love everybody. I swear to god. Like, bro, I love, like, literally. Bro! I swear!"

Not the first time Kai Cenat has faced transphobic allegations

This isn’t the first time Twitch streamer Kai Cenat has faced transphobic allegations. During the Ava Kris Tyson situation (there were allegations of Ava inappropriately messaging minors), the streamer repeatedly used "he" to refer to Ava, despite her coming out as a woman. He said:

"Bro, he's weird, bro. Weirdo, weirdo, weirdo...How do you know the age of someone, knowing that you're a grown a** man and still move forward. I still don't understand it, I don't."

Following these comments, he faced a wave of criticism online, with many calling him out for misgendering.

Another instance occurred during Kai Cenat's Mafiathon (subathon on Twitch) in February 2023, where he was accused of using a homophobic slur. This incident led to some backlash from viewers and the online community.

Despite these criticisms, Kai Cenat has made efforts to maintain a positive and respectful image within the online community. In contrast, creators like Adin Ross and Nico "Sneako" have adopted a more conservative stance on such issues.
