Streamers Darren "IShowSpeed" and Kai Cenat have announced a collaboration involving Hardcore Minecraft, which is an unmerciful version of this title. Players only have one life here; if they die, the game ends once and for all. Also, the difficulty is locked on hard, meaning enemies are stronger.
Kai Cenat unveiled this collaboration during a Twitch livestream from a U-Haul truck after he and his fellow AMP members were "kicked out" of their New York residence:
"Speed and Kai, Hardcore Minecraft Marathon of death... basically, if one of us dies we've to start the whole world over. Now, how long do you think it's gonna take, chat? A month? You think it's going to take that long? I think if we get it down on how to beat the game, we will be good."
Many are thrilled by the prospect of witnessing the unpredictable antics that Kai and Speed are known for, especially in such a high-stakes environment. During a live video call, the two discussed their plans, ultimately deciding to stream continuously until they complete the game, potentially turning it into their longest broadcast ever.
Kai Cenat announces the Minecraft Hardcore Marathon in collaboration with IShowSpeed
On August 17, 2024, at 3 pm EST, the two will start their Minecraft grind. Kai will stream the entire series on his Twitch channel. Fans can expect streams with long runtimes. Cenat has speculated that the entire series might last over a month, depending on how well the duo play.
During the build-up to the marathon, the streamers discussed the Hardcore mode, their expectations and perhaps playing Minecraft on normal instead. Kai Cenat had this to say about the dilemma:
"I wouldn't mind doing Normal, but here's the thing with hardcore Speed, [if we die], we'd have to start over a whole new world... I think if we both die we've to start over."
When Speed asked his YouTube chat which mode they thought the streamers should play on, a majority of the viewers asked for a Hardcore marathon. After his chat's encouragement, Speed was prepared for a challenging Minecraft experience:
"Alright, f**k it, let's do Hardcore bro, set that sh*t up ('You wanna do Hardcore?', asked Kai.) Hardcore! F**k it, set it up."
In an August 14 live stream on Twitch, Kai was hyping up the marathon and claimed Speed would be coming to New York to play along with him, at the new AMP townhouse residence.
Viewers can expect an entertaining series that will most likely turn chaotic at some point, with many wondering if they can conquer Minecraft's toughest mode in what could become their longest stream yet.
During Kai and Speed's previous collaboration, they played the co-op game, Chained Together, while actually chained together. This was a challenge that required them to coordinate both their physical movements and in-game actions, leading to a mix of hilarious and frustrating moments.
