Lunchly, the ready-to-eat meal brand created by Jimmy "MrBeast," Logan Paul, and JJ "KSI," has already witnessed its fair share of controversies. Launched on September 16, 2024, the company has come under fire due to the potential health-related concerns surrounding its product. Minecraft YouTuber DanTDM was among the first to call Lunchly out.
However, the product has recently received further criticism from the online community after one of its flavors, "The Pizza," allegedly had mold (or mould) in it. This article will delve into the instances where individuals have found mold in Lunchly.
Does Lunchly have mold in it? Controversy explained
MrBeast, Logan Paul, and KSI's jointly launched brand Lunchly has already faced a lot of flak due to it being marketed as a "healthier" alternative to Lunchlables. As mentioned earlier, people have raised concerns over the potential health risks it may carry for children.
Over the past few days, there have been reports of people finding mold in Lunchly products. For those unaware, mold is a microscopic fungus that can grow on food and cause it to spoil.
For instance, Rosanna Pansino, who has previously been critical of MrBeast, shared a video showing that the cheese contained fungi despite being months away from its expiration date. She said:
"I was filming a video comparing Lunchables to Lunchly and was shocked when I opened ‘The Pizza’ Lunchly. The cheese had MOLD! The expiration date was still 2 months away!"
DogPack404, another creator and former MrBeast employee, has also come forward to criticize the same product. He posted a picture of "The Pizza" and claimed that the cheese had mold on it. He posted this:
"Opening a Lunchly everyday until I find mold, day 1:"
There have also been other instances of the general public coming forward and sharing pictures of the cheese in Lunchly's "The Pizza." These images suggest that there may be mold present. One user wrote:
"So can we talk about how there have now been multiple cases of people finding mold in their Lunchly cheese, the main ingredient they're promoting as a 'better for you alternative'??"
Online news outlet Drama Alert (@DramaAlert) has also shared this update on their X.com page. They wrote:
"What appears to be mold was spotted in a Lunchly. It's not clear if the box was tampered with as half the items are removed."
Despite recent concerns, it’s worth noting that some cheeses do indeed use mold as an ingredient, and it is typically considered harmless. Nonetheless, this controversy has yet to prompt a response from MrBeast, Logan Paul, or KSI.
