During a livestream on August 4, 2024, Kick streamer Adin Ross asked his friend and fellow content creator Felix "xQc" for a $5 million loan. While playing Mecha BREAK, Adin Ross opened up about his financial struggles, claiming that he had lost money due to gambling and the recent cryptocurrency crash.
For those unaware, several cryptocurrencies lost significant value on August 4, 2024, with Ethereum and BitCoin tanking.
During his conversation with xQc, Ross said:
"Can you give me a loan? Okay. $5 million. Because crypto is down and I'm down a lot of money on Ethereum. And I'm down a lot of money. I'll be real with you - I gamble a lot. Dude, I'll just be real, X, I gamble a lot of money off-stream, and then the ETH market crashed, and then it's just f**k you, man! Bro, it really f**ked me."
In response, the French-Canadian personality disclosed that he had loaned money to two others:
"How much? I'm already down two loans right now. Two people owe me money. I mean, I could give you a loan. It depends how much and why. For why, though?"
One of Adin Ross' friends joined the conversation and explained what the 23-year-old wanted to do with the money:
"He wants to gamble $5 million and double it up."
Adin Ross promises to pay back $5 million to xQc in a year
The Kick streamers' conversation continued, with Adin Ross promising to repay $5 million to xQc plus interest within a year. Claiming that the former Overwatch pro would "gain" something from the money he would loan, the Florida native said:
"Can you please send me that money? You'll have your money back in a year. I'll be real with you... but it's not rape. Sorry, I shouldn't use that word. So, it's not f**king me, I'm going to give you interest on that loan. So you're gaining something. So, it's like - you put this $5 million away for a year, you get what I'm saying... and you'll have that s**t back and a percentage."
xQc then stated that the $5 million loan would carry a 25% interest rate. Adin Ross was taken aback after hearing this and responded:
"Jesus Christ! I know you know you're on Adderall, but can you please go down a little bit on the drug usage? Come on, dude. Let's get that down a little bit. Cut that chunk, at least."
After some back and forth, Ross agreed to pay 15% interest on the loan. However, xQc was unimpressed with the deal, remarking, "Wait, in a year? F**k that."
