Kick streamer Adin Ross was left disappointed after reviewing his face scan in NBA 2K25 during his latest broadcast on Kick. Ross has been trying his hand at the game as its early access opens the game for players two days before its release to the general public on August 6, 2024.

The face scan feature in the NBA 2K series allows players to scan their faces using their phone camera and companion app, which is then utilized to create an in-game character to their likeness. However, in the case of Adin, it seemed to have backfired as it generated a character with a significantly different appearance than him.

Ross also noticed that the character generated using his face scan was a different ethnicity entirely, with him exclaiming:

"There's no f**king way that is my face scan! I look nothing like this guy! This guy is black. I'm white."

Adin Ross calls out 2K Games after his face scan in NBA 2K25 goes awry

Adin Ross had been eyeing the latest NBA 2K title for a while now and even obtained physical copies of the game for himself and other Stacey Step Bros (SSB) members before it was officially released. A photo of them holding the copies went viral within the NBA 2K community as well.

The streamer had also been approached by the game's Digital Marketing Director, "Ronnie 2K", as the latter asserted that the content creator should go not live while playing the game before it had been available for play to the public. Further, Ross had been blocked by an auto-update within the game that barred him from playing it entirely before the early access "tip-off" began.

Now, with the opportunity to finally access the game, Adin Ross expressed his frustration with the face scan feature while addressing 2K games directly. He eventually decided to retain the character, however, stating:

"Like, come on bro, 2K. What the f**k is this, bro? This makes zero sense, bro, what- like, what is this? I don't look like- I'm keeping it though, chat, we're keeping it."

YouTube star Darren "IShowSpeed" also tried out the face scan feature. His generated character seemed to be off-beat as well. With a nose too big for the 19-year-old streamer to be comfortable with, he repeatedly could be seen remarking upon it within his broadcast.
