Political Twitch streamer Hasan "HasanAbi" Piker has called out Zack "Asmongold" for saying that the Holocaust "probably happened" with "99% certainty" during a broadcast on January 21, 2025. HasanAbi’s criticism of Asmongold came hours after the comment went viral across social media platforms like X and Reddit.

During his January 21 stream, Asmongold defended Elon Musk against backlash over an arm gesture that some had described as resembling a "Nazi salute" during Donald Trump's inauguration.

In the course of this discussion, Asmongold diverged into other topics and claimed that he was not a Holocaust denier. He said the genocide "probably happened" with "99% certainty":

"I am not one of these holocaust deniers. I think the Holocaust probably happened. I think probably 99% certainty it happened."

HasanAbi, reacting to the clip on his own stream, called out Asmongold for seemingly trying to sound provocative by presenting the Holocaust as something that could have a 1% chance of not having happened:

"Are you that desperate to be edgy? Come on Asmon, what the hell is wrong with you, bro? Do I think that Asmongold doesn't think the Holocaust didn't happen? No. I think he knows that the Holocaust happened, 100% knows that the Holocaust happened."

HasanAbi criticizes Asmongold's comment about the Holocaust, calls him the "largest political content creator" on Twitch

The criticism continued, with HasanAbi accusing Asmongold of trying to "retain his gamer cred" by alluding to a small margin of doubt regarding the Holocaust:

"But the very fact that he has to retain his gamer cred, he has to do this weird debate thing where he is like, 'Oh, there's a 1% chance it didn't happen.' It's such a stupid f**king thing to say, dude. Jesus Christ!"

When a viewer asked why Asmongold's comment about the Holocaust was important, HasanAbi said it was because the OTK streamer holds considerable influence as one of the largest political content creators on Twitch, with a massive viewership:

"Why do we care what Asmon says? Because he is the largest political content creator on this platform whether you like it or not. He quite literally is, as it stands, the largest political content creator and the largest content creator on the platform as a matter of fact. With 53K concurrent viewers, Asmongold, currently is, the largest political content creator on the platform, okay?"

Readers should note that while Asmongold is primarily known as an MMO streamer, he has increasingly discussed political topics on his Twitch broadcasts. Last year, he faced backlash for his comments about the conflict in Gaza and was banned by the Amazon-owned platform for a couple of weeks.
