Twitch streamer Zack "Asmongold" has explained why he no longer plays World of Warcraft. During a livestream on December 29, 2024, the content creator reacted to YouTuber Madskillzzhc's video, Exposing The Botting Mafia in World of Warcraft.
At one point, Asmongold noticed a live viewer asking why he does not play the MMORPG developed by Blizzard Entertainment anymore. While describing World of Warcraft as a "weird and boring" game, the Austin, Texas-based personality remarked:
"It's because the game's f**king boring! The game's boring and it's weird. I don't really play the game anymore because I don't really feel like there's anything for me to do in the game that's fulfilling. Now, I might change my mind in the future and feel differently about it."

Asmongold asserted that he did not want to play the game due to a lack of "motivation":
"But right now, I don't really see any form of motivation for me to play WoW. I just don't want to do it. Now, again, this could change. It could definitely change. 'Would you play Classic+?' Probably, yeah, but at the end of the day, I'm just trying to do what I feel like doing and that's it."

After referring to World of Warcraft as a "boring and weird" game, Asmongold referred to himself as "one of the main people" who made content about the game. Elaborating on the "real reason" he stopped playing the MMORPG, the Twitch streamer stated:
"I was one of the main people to make content about WoW. So, it would make sense that a lot of people would want to see whether I'm playing the game or not. But, the real reason why I don't have a lot of interest in playing it is just simply because I just feel like I've done it before."

Zack also explained why he has not been playing World of Warcraft Classic Hardcore with other popular streamers in the OnlyFangs guild, saying:
"With Hardcore Wow, which is the main thing that people really want me to do because of OnlyFangs etcetera... I don't like playing games that I have to focus in. Like, you guys might not know this, most of the time, I'm totally spaced out. I'm not really thinking about anything. I'm just, like, drifting through consciousness."
