In his latest broadcast, Asmongold claimed that he intends to proceed with his plans to do a stream with Dan Saltman and expose what he believes to be biased moderation on Twitch. When asked what he would do if he gets banned, the streamer said he would simply move to other platforms like Kick or Rumble.
A few days ago, Asmongold declared that he would do a stream with Dan Saltman, aka Dancantstream, who happens to be the co-host of political streamer Destiny's podcast, Anything Else. The announcement was a result of Twitch streamer Central_Committee seemingly threatening Destiny on a stream and getting banned, prompting questions about moderation on the platform.
After Central_Committee was unbanned within three days, Asmongold claimed that moderation on Twitch is "extremely biased." He said:
"One person can do something and nothing happens. Somebody else says something, and they are permanently banned. I think also the moderation is extremely biased. It's obvious that it's biased. And this will become more evident over time."
He added that if he gets banned for the broadcast, he will just move to another platform:
"If I am trying to hold the platform accountable for allowing people on the platform that openly commit felonies and use the platform as a vehicle to commit felonies and I get banned for that, um, honestly RIP Bozo. Let's be real, I can just go somewhere else and stream over there."
"I will probably go to Kick and Rumble": Asmongold criticizes Twitch and talks about hypothetically changing platforms
When his viewers noted that he could banned for showing controversial clips in his supposed exposé with Dan Saltman, Asmongold said he would just move to Kick or Rumble. He also noted that Twitch has been receiving a lot of negative press lately and that things are only going to get worse for the platform:
"I will probably go to Kick and Rumble if I get f**king banned on Twitch. Realistically, that's what I am going to do. These people are making Twitch worse, they have already created a lot of negative publicity for Twitch and I think it's just going to continue to get worse."
While it is not clear exactly what bad press Asmongold is talking about, US congressman Ritchie Torres recently sent a letter to Twitch and CEO Dan Clancy alleging a rise of anti-Semitism on the platform. Readers should note that Dan Saltman, the person Asmongold plans to stream with, was a big proponent of these accusations along with Destiny.
As it happens, Asmongold still plans on streaming with Dan Saltman because Central_Committee was only banned for around three days. The OTK streamer said:
"Is the stream with Dan Saltman on? Well, I will tell you this. I said that if he got banned for less than two weeks that I would do it. He got banned for three days. Last time I checked, three days is less than two weeks. So it sure sounds like it's f**king on. Probably be doing it later on this week. That's the plan."
After H3 podcast host Ethan Klein accused Twitch CEO Dan Clancy of "hating Jewish people" earlier this year, Dan Saltman and Destiny alleged that the platform had stopped new sign-ups from Israel.
The Amazon-owned streaming website later apologized and corrected the issue.
