Asmongold recalls how he had "breathing problems" after having slept on moldy pillows for two years

During a broadcast on January 8, 2025, Twitch star and OTK co-founder Asmongold recalled how he once suffered from breathing issues after sleeping on moldy pillows for an extended period. The streamer has often faced criticism from his community for neglecting to tidy his living space.

Asmongold made headlines in October 2024 for cleaning his kitchen while he was banned from Twitch. Photos showing the dramatic before-and-after transformation of the room quickly went viral on social media.

While streaming on his alternate Twitch account zackrawrr on January 8, 2025, the content creator discussed how he had struggled with breathing problems in the past:

"Every once in a while I was having breathing problems, and I would be like, why am I having breathing problems? Like, this is for fat people. Fat people have breathing problems and smokers have breathing problems. I shouldn't be having breathing problems."

While trying to pinpoint the cause of the issues, Asmongold discovered that his bed was infested with mold. He then revealed that he had been sleeping on moldy pillows for two years, which ultimately led to his breathing problems:

"And so I found out that my bed was moist with mold. All of my pillows had mold on them. I didn't know this because I was not thinking about this. So, I was sleeping in mold for like two years."

Boasting over 3.5 million followers on his main channel and another 2 million on his secondary account, Asmongold is a popular figure on Twitch known for his variety streams. However, his outspoken views on pop culture and politics have often put him at the center of controversy.

For instance, the content creator was banned from Twitch for two weeks in 2024 following backlash over comments he made regarding the conflict in Palestine.

Now, a clip of him discussing how he had to dispose of his moldy pillows after years of use has drawn attention, especially after it was shared on the r/Livestream subreddit. In the video, the streamer describes going to Target to purchase new bedsheets and pillows:

"I got rid of them. I did, I went to Target and bought two new pillows. I changed my life. That was actually the day I bought new sheets as well."

When some viewers accused him of fabricating the story, he insisted that it was entirely true:

"Nah, you're baiting? Okay. Ask anybody that has come over to my house if there was a gigantic pile of my pillows outside of my house. Or outside my room and then got moved outside of my house."

While he made his name playing MMOs like World of Warcraft, Asmongold has since claimed that he finds the game "boring" and "weird."
