Twitch streamer Zack "Asmongold" gave his opinion regarding abortion rights on his most recent broadcast. He said that it should be ensured on a Federal level and not just left up to individual states. Zack said this while waiting for the 2024 US Election coverage to begin.
While Asmongold made his name as a popular MMO streamer, over the past few years, the veteran content creator has been talking about social and political issues. Recently, he was even banned from Twitch for two weeks after making controversial comments about the Palestinians.
On his November 5 stream, Asmongold came across a comment from one of his viewers that seemingly defended Donald Trump for enabling the overturning of Roe v. Wade. This allowed states to pass their own laws on abortion. The Twitch streamer decidedly disagreed with this, claiming some civil liberties should be universal:

"(Reading a chat)'Trump democratized abortion, if people don't like it then shut up. Move to the state and vote for it.' I don't agree with that. I don't think people's civil liberties should be democratized in a lot of cases. I think they should be ensured on a Federal level. Yeah, that's my opinion."
Asmongold thinks laws about abortion, discrimination, and other civil liberties should be universal across the US
Abortion has been a key talking point in this election cycle and naturally, the topic was brought up when Asmongold was streaming on November 5. The Twitch streamer seemingly put himself on the pro-abortion side when he pushed back against the fact that individual states are now able to make laws about the issue.
Zack acknowledged that people might disagree with him on this but went on to say that big civil liberty issues such as slavery, abortion, voting rights, and more, should be uniform across the United States:
"So, you know, people might not agree with that. People might think it should be on the state's. But I think, like, really, any big civil liberty issue should be uniform across the entire country. Things like slavery, discrimination, voting rights, abortion. I think these should be universal."
Asmongold also noted that Donald Trump had not directly banned abortion but had allowed other offices such as the Supreme Court to overturn Roe v. Wade. This, in turn, led some states to pass laws limiting and in some places like Texas making it illegal to get an abortion:
"And again, I get that Trump didn't ban abortion. I know he didn't ban abortion. I think that's also not true. Like it's fundamentally not true, but he enabled other people to be able to do it if they choose to. Which I don't think is a good thing."
