On his first stream back after a two-week ban, Asmongold reacted to a social media post by Destiny where the Kick streamer had shared the clip that allegedly led to Twitch banning him permanently. After watching the video, Asmongold claimed that the platform was looking for reasons to suspend Destiny's account.
Destiny was indefinitely banned from Twitch in 2022 and since then, the platform has refused to reinstate his account despite multiple appeals. Speculation about the reason for the indefinite suspension has been rampant on social media as Twitch is known to not publicly disclose exact reasons for bans.
Earlier this month, Destiny allegedly found out the supposed reason for his Twitch ban and shared the clip on X. Many of his fans believe that his actions in the clip did not justify the penalty of a permanent ban and Asmongold seems to agree.
After watching the clip, Asmongold claimed that there was a lot of animosity between Destiny and Twitch:
"He got banned? I think that Destiny, the truth is that it was very obvious that Destiny had a very adversarial. Thereawas a lot of animosity in the relationship that he has had with Twitch."
Asmongold further claimed that Twitch was looking for reasons to ban him:
"He has been one of the earliest Twitch streamers, so it's pretty obvious that Twitch was pretty much just looking for a reason. That was it. Yes, so they didn't like him, exactly."
"I'm in danger": Asmongold says he has said worse things than Destiny while reacting to the clip that supposedly got the latter banned
Asmongold had quite a rocky month after his alternate account zackrawrr was banned by Twitch on October 15 for two weeks. The OTK co-founder was seemingly penalized for his controversial remarks about Palestinian people while giving his opinion on the conflict in Gaza during a broadcast on October 14, 2024.
A day after the ban went into effect, the streamer announced that he was stepping away from leadership positions in OTK and StarForge Systems after his comments sparked widespread backlash from the streaming community.
As he was coming back from a ban, Asmongold was looking at some of the streamer-related news he had missed during the suspension. This is when he came across Destiny's post about his own suspension from the platform two years ago.
Asmongold was quite critical of Twitch for their decision to ban Destiny for his supposed disparaging comments about trans debates. He went on to insinuate that his account could get banned once more because he has said worse things in the past:
"I'm in danger. I've said way worse stuff than that. That's crazy, I have said way worse than that. Oh man! I am going to get banned again."
Readers should note that Asmongold has acknowledged his past controversies in a YouTube video where he also talked about stepping away from OTK and StarForge systems. The streamer had also claimed that he had let people down with his actions, while saying that he would do better in the future.
