Twitch star Zack "Asmongold" has commented on the recent controversy involving FaZe Clan and Stranger Things actress Grace Van Dien. For those out of the loop, Van Dien called out FaZe Clan at The Streamer Awards 2024 while announcing the Best FPS Player. Commenting on the group members' political support, she remarked:
"Hi. I am so excited to be announcing the Best FPS Player, as I am hard-stuck Bronze in every game that I play. That's why I was never accepted the FaZe. Right guys? That's okay, I'm not a Trumpy, anyway."
Following the event, Van Dien took to X to accuse FaZe Clan members of "staring" and "whispering" at her. In response, Richard "FaZe Banks" called her a "slam pig":
"You're a slam pig lol, nobody (is) afraid of your baby voices or your 80 lbs emo boyfriend. Stop clinging onto our s**t, nobody knows you or gives a f**k about you. You tried to force your way into FaZe, you're a f**king cornball that none of us wanted and you're still mad."
During a livestream on December 9, 2024, Asmongold discussed Grace Van Dien and FaZe Clan's dispute. Claiming that the actress was a "diversity hire" in the professional esports organization, the Texas-based streamer said:
"So, you guys might not know the whole history. She was an actress in Stranger Things, and then she started streaming. And so, she totally quit acting. FaZe invites her in. It was pretty obvious to me, it seemed like this is like a diversity hire angle, right? 'We're going to bring in this person who has some degree of mainstream celebrity, so we can rehabilitate the image of the FaZe brand.' And, obviously, a lot of people got really mad about it, and it caused FaZe to effectively go into a death spiral."
Asmongold says he "loves" FaZe Clan being "toxic gamer bros" following their recent controversy with Grace Van Dien
The conversation continued with Asmongold reacting to FaZe Banks' post mentioned above. While expressing his admiration for FaZe Clan being "back to doing what they do best," the co-founder of One True King (OTK) stated:
"I am so glad FaZe is back to doing what they do best - being toxic gamer bros, and I love it! Play the part!"

Asmongold's attention was then drawn to a live viewer, who stated that FaZe Banks was "disrespecting women." The Twitch streamer responded:
"If you believe in equality, then you should believe that if you're a woman and you're speaking out and you're being hostile and rude and obnoxious, then people should be able to respond to that in the same way. And he wouldn't have done that if she wasn't sitting around talking s**t, and saying that they had micro d**ks."
In other news, Grace Van Dien deactivated her official X account following her latest clash with the FaZe Clan.
