Twitch star Zack "Asmongold" commented on the recent controversy involving Steven "Destiny." For those unaware, Destiny made headlines on July 17, 2024, after he got banned for the first time on Kick. He published his thoughts on X later that day to reveal that the platform had suspended him due to "hate speech."
Here's what the Stake-backed platform said about Destiny's ban:
"Hey Destiny, your account has been temporarily suspended due to a breach of terms of service. Reason - Hate Speech. This suspension will expire (on) 2024-07-31 (at) 01:29:41."
During a livestream on July 17, Asmongold came across the situation while browsing his official subreddit. The co-founder of One True King (OTK) stated that Kick was "justified" in banning any content creator from the platform. However, he voiced his disagreement with the decision, saying:
"Now, obviously, Kick is completely justified to ban anybody for any reason they want. However, I disagree with this. I don't think that he should be banned. Now, you can maybe take away partnerships. You can maybe take away other things. But actually taking him off the platform, when you have people that are committing felonies regularly on the platform, that's insane!"
Asmongold went on to say that Kick banning the Nebraska native was "not a good idea":
"Listen, people are like, 'Well, that's just what you get. This is consequences.' It is. But you can't expect people to respect consequences whenever they're asymmetrical. So yes, I do not agree with this. I do not think this is a good idea. I hope that he gets unbanned."
According to Asmongold, people "like" Kick because they can say "bad s**t" without worrying about it:
"Obviously, I don't necessarily agree with what he is saying. But I think that he has the right to say it. And I think that's the reason why people like Kick. It's because people can say bad s**t and they don't have to worry about it."

Destiny claims Kick moderation informed him his recent controversial comments counted as "supporting terrorism"
During a YouTube livestream earlier today (July 18, 2024), Destiny claimed to have spoken with the Kick moderation team about his two-week-long ban. According to him, the platform viewed his comments on Donald Trump's assassination attempt as "supporting terrorism."
Destiny elaborated:
"'Has there been any communication with Kick?' Yeah, I had a conversation last night with their moderation team, and they said that me saying, 'F**k that dude,' or whatever counts as supporting terrorism. I'm like, 'Okay.'"
In other news, on July 17, Felix "xQc" stated that he "cannot back" Destiny's behavior after the political commentator said he does not condemn the person who attempted to assassinate Donald Trump during a Piers Morgan Uncensored episode.
