Twitch star Asmongold has announced that he will be cleaning his house as part of the changes he plans to make following his recent controversy. For context, the content creator has been banned from the Amazon-owned streaming platform after receiving criticism for making controversial remarks about Palestine and Gaza.

In a video on YouTube titled My Plans Moving Forward, Asmongold said he would step back from leadership roles at various esports and gaming organizations, including OTK (One True King) and StarForge Systems. He added that his life is in shambles and that he will be cleaning parts of his famously messy home as a form of penance for his controversies.

The streamer is well-known for having a messy room, and even video game developers have joked about it on social media. For this reason, the announcement that he will clean his house has gone viral, with clips from the YouTube video garnering hundreds of thousands of views on social media websites like X.

"I view this as a penance": Asmongold talks about cleaning his room as a way of taking accountability

Asmongold has been the talk of the streaming community in recent days after clips of him criticizing Palestinian culture and sharing controversial opinions on the conflict in Gaza sparked significant backlash on social media.

After Twitch banned his alternate account zackrawrr, the streamer released a video outlining his plans to make changes in his life. Interestingly, one of his methods of atonement includes cleaning his notoriously messy house, which he described as a form of penance:

"I am going to try to like, I don't know, clean up a part of my house. I am going to try to do this, and I am not going to hire a cleaner. As I said, I was raised Roman Catholic. I view this as a penance."

Asmongold added that cleaning his house would give him closure and help him take accountability for "bad things" he has done:

"I think I need to do this for myself. I need to take accountability for bad things that I have done. And for letting my life get this out of control. And I don't need a get out of jail free card. So, I need to do that for myself and for my own closure as well."

The content creator also revealed in a Reddit comment on his official subreddit that he might potentially move in with fellow OTK co-owner EsfandTV, but only after fixing his house first.

Readers should note that another OTK co-owner, Tips Out, recently put out a statement calling out Asmongold's remarks about Palestine.
