Asmongold has come out staunchly against Twitch's decision to serve Destiny's son Nathan an indefinite ban from streaming on its platform, citing a violation of terms of service regarding threatening language. For context, Nathan's broadcast dated July 19 titled "Chill Stream | Destiny Execution Soon" was flagged by the Amazon-owned website for "Serious Violent Threats."
Destiny's 13-year-old son Nathan was indefinitely banned from Twitch after a clip of him threatening and shooting his father with a toy gun went viral on social media. Asmongold and many others have criticized the move, claiming it was a joke.
As such, a screenshot of the email noting Nathan's indefinite Twitch ban has gone viral on Reddit and X. Asmongold came across it while streaming from his alternate Twitch account zackrawrr, and claimed that the moderators of the platform had been too harsh by giving Destiny's son an indefinite ban instead of a shorter suspension:
"An indefinite suspension? It doesn't need to be an indefinite, this is like a three-day, or like a week maybe, right? It's a joke, it's obviously a f*cking joke. I have said I was going to kill people I know in the past. It's just a f*cking joke, chill out."
"What kind of morons are running things over there?": Asmongold blasts Twitch for banning Destiny's son Nathan after he threatened his father with a toy gun
Asmongold went on to criticize Twitch for the decision, lambasting the platform for handing Destiny's son an indefinite ban for what he described as a joke:
"What's so weird to me, how is it possible that somebody who is joking gets banned but somebody who is not joking doesn't! How the f*ck does this happen? What kind of morons are running things over there?"
The OTK co-founder went on to state that the ban had nothing to do with Nathan's actions, accusing Twitch of penalizing him because he is associated with Destiny:
"Well, I know what kind of morons, it's people that don't like Destiny. That's the reason why, it's got nothing to do with what happened. And it has everything to do with who it's happening to."
Asmongold proceeded to call the ban illogical and devoid of principle:
"It's not principled, there is no logic involved with this. There's no like, 'Okay, let's look at the way our rules are set up and see how we can apply this fairly.' No, no, it's the guy that we don't like."
As it stands, Nathan's Twitch account can only be reinstated if an appeal is approved. This means the ban is in effect a permanent one till the platform decides to reinstate it.
