YouTube star Jimmy "MrBeast" has made a post on X claiming that his new competitive reality game show, Beast Games, is Prime Video's number one launch for an unscripted series. The show has so far released three episodes on the platform, the first being available for viewing without a subscription.

Talking about the show's purported historical launch on Prime Video and how it could potentially provide opportunities for other creators on streaming platforms, MrBeast wrote:

"Beast Games is officially the #1 unscripted series launch in Prime video history :D Hopefully this opens doors for other creators on streaming platforms."

MrBeast claims Beast Games is Prime Videos' #1 unscripted series launch

Beast Games is MrBeast's much-awaited game show that involves a thousand participants going against each other in several challenging trials to ultimately be the last person standing and attain the grand prize of $5 million.

The YouTuber had claimed in a separate post on December 21, 2024, that Beast Games became the number-one show on Prime Video in over fifty countries, including the United States, India, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, United Kingdom, Brazil, and Turkey.

Although the show's launch on December 19, 2024, sparked much discussion online, it was reviewed negatively by media powerhouse IGN, which labeled it as being "largely dull". This review was later criticized by both MrBeast and FaZe CEO Richard "Banks," the latter of whom claimed that IGN had "no understanding about the demand/appetite for content" in 2024.

The show is scheduled to release new episodes every Thursday, with MrBeast promising that it would become more engaging as the number of remaining contestants decreases with each new release.

To commemorate the release of Beast Games' third episode, the YouTuber announced a $100,000 giveaway open to the general public of the United States — 10 winners will be chosen at random to be paid out of the aforementioned prize pool.
