Now, the senator is venturing into the world of live streaming, to further his digital presence and reach younger, online audiences. On Tuesday, October 22, 2024, Bernie Sanders will join forces with popular streamers Pokimane and Valkyrae in a Twitch and YouTube livestream to support Vice President Kamala Harris's campaign.

Previously, presidential candidate Kamala Harris joined Twitch as a part of her campaign, potentially aiming to gain the attention of the platform's younger demographic.

By collaborating with well-known streamers and integrating campaign events with popular video game streams, the campaign is attempting to tap into platforms where many young people spend their time. For example, the campaign partnered with Twitch streamer Preheat, who streamed "World of Warcraft" during a rally, aiming to attract the "Zoomer" audience.

According to a report from The Washington Post, during the stream, Bernie Sanders is expected to address key progressive issues like raising the minimum wage, rent control, universal health care, climate change, and affordable education—issues that may resonate with younger audiences but are often dismissed as "radical" by critics.

This effort reflects the broader Democratic strategy of reaching out to young voters, who are crucial to the party’s success.

Considering Kick streamer Adin Ross had a record-breaking live collaboration with former President Donald Trump earlier in August, it does make sense for Bernie to make an appearance on Twitch, to promote the Harris-Walz campaign. Pokimane and Valkyrae, two of the most influential female streamers with over 21 million followers combined, offer a massive platform for this digital outreach.

The stream is scheduled to start at 7:30 p.m. ET and will be available on both Pokimane and Valkyrae's channels on Twitch and YouTube respectively.
