On his January 23, 2025, Chile IRL stream, Darren "IShowSpeed" recounted his reaction after discovering Cristiano Ronaldo had wished him a happy birthday on Instagram. The streamer turned 20 on January 21 and celebrated by posting photos of a CR7-themed cake on social media.
By the next day, screenshots of Cristiano Ronaldo's reply to his Instagram post had gone viral all over social media, with fans excitedly noting how IShowSpeed's footballing idol had wished him a happy birthday.

On his latest Chile stream, Darren called it the best birthday gift he could ever hope to receive:
"Chat, guess who told me happy birthday? The best birthday gift that I could ever receive that I could ever ask for. The man himself, Cristiano Ronaldo! He told me happy birthday!"
The streamer went on to explain that he realized Cristiano Ronaldo had wished him while he was traveling in an airplane. IShowSpeed also revealed screaming at the airport and doing a backflip to celebrate getting the birthday wish from the football star:

While recounting the moment he found out Cristiano Ronaldo had wished him, the streamer lamented not having filmed the emotional moment which had made him cry:
"Oh my god, I literally cried right there in that moment you all. I wish that I had it recorded, I don't know why I didn't record it. Don't know why, dumb. But chat, that was like insane. I felt that way in the middle of my sleep as I landed in the airport, bro."
