On September 9, 2024, a clip of FaZe Clan member Plaqueboymax, aka FeZe Max, trying to imitate IShowSpeed's car jump stunt started garnering attention on social media. Last month, IShowSpeed's YouTube channel was suspended for a few days after the content creator jumped over a couple of speeding cars during a livestream. The channel got restored within a couple of days.
Plaqueboymax chose to do a version of the stunt during his ongoing FaZe marathon stream on Twitch. A key difference is that he did not exactly jump over a car but did so over a Porsche's outline while the vehicle was on a different lane.
This naturally got a lot of attention from viewers, with many comparing the streamer to IShowSpeed. Here are some of the general reactions calling out the FaZe Clan member for trying (and failing) to imitate the YouTuber.
"Bro thinks he’s speed," said X user @fxckzinx in response to the clip.
"Speed would be proud," wrote @yoxics.
"they got max on clip farming now," claimed @easymoneycam1.
"aint no one mentioning the fact that he’s on other side of road?", asked @EmojiOOC
Watch: Plaqueboymax jumps on the street as a Porsche speeds past him in the opposite lane
IShowSpeed is known for being quite athletic, with one of his livestream segments featuring him racing athletes and celebrities that he interacts with on stream. He has collaborated with many sportspeople and organizations before, having done an IRL stream from the NFL Scouting Combine where his opponent Sketch tore a hamstring while playing football.
Regardless, the YouTuber went viral in August after he jumped over his CR7 Lamborghini Huracan and a Porsche on stream after his team had closed off a street. YouTube did not take the act well and suspended the content creator for reportedly not obeying the platform's safety rules and guidelines.
However, Plaqueboymax will likely not get a ban as he did not really do a stunt like IShowSpeed. Unlike the YouTuber, who seemingly jumped over the cars that were coming towards him, Plaqueboymax chose to jump over nothing while a Porsche drove past him in the opposite lane.
In related news, Nick Eh 30 claimed that IShowSpeed had somehow faked the aforementioned stunt last month and even recreated the scene with some post-production editing on his channel.
