CDawgVA calls out "parasocial" netizens for criticizing Ironmouse after she amassed over 190,000 Twitch subscribers

Prominent internet personality Connor "CDawgVA" has addressed the criticism directed at Twitch star Ironmouse after she recently amassed over 190,000 subscribers. On September 24, 2024, a post by X user @yoxics, in which they referred to Ironmouse as a "fictional character on a screen," went viral. While wondering why so many people were subscribed to the VShojo-affiliated personality's Twitch channel, the netizen remarked:

"Can someone tell me why 200,000 people are subbing to a fictional character on a screen?"

This post has since garnered over 3.1 million views, eliciting responses from more than 1,900 online community members. Some X users seemed to agree with @yoxics' opinions.

"What the f**k is on my screen, 190,000 f**king dorks," said @Advyth.

"People have forgotten since Adin, but Twitch is primarily for the geeks," remarked @brodyunfiltered.

Others called them out for describing the popular VTuber as a "fictional character."

"Because there's a real person operating the avatar and talking? There's nothing fictional about it other than not seeing her face," commented X user @Lil_Luna_IRLz.

"She's just like any other streamer, she just makes video game content, etc with the Ironmouse persona. Plus, she has CVID, so she uses that persona to stream since she can't really leave her house and doesn't want to show her face. Why so judgy, lil bruh?" said @puppinuu.

Earlier today (September 25, 2024), CDawgVA responded to X user @yoxics' viral post and called out "parasocial" netizens:

"Support people doing rad s**t with their platform" - Twitch streamer Pirate Software reacts to X user's viral post in which they called Ironmouse a "fictional character"

In addition to CDawgVA, Twitch streamer and YouTuber Jason "Pirate Software" has also responded to X user @yoxics' post. While stating that people should support content creators who use their platform to promote "rad s**t," Pirate Software added that netizens should not "tear down" streamers without first researching them:

"She's @Ironmouse and is currently running a subathon where 50% of the revenue goes to @IDFCommunity. Support people doing rad s**t with their platform. Don't tear them down because you can't spend a second finding out who they are."
