YouTube creator Cody Ko has now parted ways with Tiny Meat Gang (TMG) Studios, the podcast network he co-founded with fellow YouTuber Noel Miller. The news comes days after allegations were made against the YouTuber of having sex with Tana Mongeau while she was a minor, and he was 25.
This claim was later corroborated by both DramaAlert host Daniel "Keemstar" and YouTuber Gabbie Hanna. In a note that has been made available on the official website of TMG Studios, Cody and Noel have collectively acknowledged the controversy surrounding the former.
TMG Studios issues statement regarding Cody Ko's departure
The controversy surrounding Cody Ko originally emerged after a video by YouTuber D'Angelo Wallace went viral. In it, he reiterated Tana Mongeau's accusation of "statutory rape" against Cody. Mongeau had talked about the alleged incident during an episode of her podcast titled Cancelled with Tana Mongeau & Brooke Schofield.
This was also backed up by Mongeau, apparently having echoed this claim for multiple years, without any considerable backlash erupting against Cody, until now.
In the note signed by both Cody Ko and Noel Miller, they stated that Cody would not be involved in "the day-to-day operations" of TMG Studios:
"We want to start by thanking you all for your patience while we were working to figure out the best path forward for the studio... As we enter into this next phase of the studio, we wanted to let you know that Cody will not be involved in the day-to-day operations at TMG Studios."
The note also stated that the controversy surrounding Cody was his "personal issue," and the decision arrived to prevent it from influencing the "professional and personal lives" of those working under TMG Studios:
"What has transpired over the past few weeks is a personal issue for him, and Cody wants to remove any effect this is having on your professional and personal lives and the work you and our other hosts have done to make TMG Studios so successful."
No direct statement has arrived from Cody Ko personally, and he has not refuted any of the accusations made against him thus far.
Many other content creators also opined on the Cody Ko controversy, including Ian "iDubbbz" and Gabi Belle. Both of them applauded the investigation conducted into the matter by Wallace in his YouTube video. On the other hand, fans have been making speculations regarding the authenticity of the allegations.
