YouTube star Darren "IShowSpeed" recently congratulated fellow streamer Kai Cenat for attaining 13 million followers on Twitch. His celebration took place in the midst of the duo's collaborative Hardcore Minecraft Marathon, which was streamed by both content creators on their respective channels and platforms.
On IShowSpeed's broadcast, his brother, Jamal, could also be heard congratulating Kai Cenat. While Cenat was hosting his own festivities on his Twitch broadcast while talking to his audience, IShowSpeed stated:
"I think he hit it. Yeah, he hit it. Congratulations my boy, Kai! Big thirteen!"
Kai Cenat hits 13 million followers on Twitch hours after IShowSpeed hits 28 million subscribers on YouTube
During their marathon, both Kai Cenat and IShowSpeed added another million users to their channels' fanbases.
Kai Cenat's rise to stardom has been meteoric in the past few years, with the 2x Streamer of the Year award winner now hitting a whopping 13 million followers. He achieved the number at 66 hours and 36 minutes into the Hardcore Minecraft Marathon on August 20, 2024.
Just some hours before, IShowSpeed celebrated reaching the 28 million subscriber landmark on his YouTube channel.
The 19-year-old, brimming with excitement and now having lost his voice after streaming the marathon for over 45 hours, decided to pick up Cenat and slam him into the ground. He then proceeded to characteristically do the goal celebration of his idol, Portuguese football star Cristiano Ronaldo.
On the other side, the pair's Minecraft marathon has seen some hurdles. The two streamers have crossed over 31 in-game deaths, with some resulting from hilarious moments, such as Cenat trying to traverse through the lava in the Nether using a boat.
The two content creators have also managed to keep their spirits high by pranking each other. While Cenat pranked IShowSpeed by waking him up from his slumber by splashing water on his face, the YouTuber pranked the Twitch star by faking an in-game death.
For this, IShowSpeed got off his shared Minecraft world with Cenat and quickly logged into a newly made world. As Cenat walked into the room, Slipz tuned in to the YouTuber's livestream.
IShowSpeed had provided instructions to his viewers to say he had "died" in chat in an effort to further deceive Cenat. The plan seemed to work, as an enraged Cenat stormed into room and proceeded to hurl a chair across the room.
