News of Kick streamer MrBasedNYC allegedly attacking a small YouTuber named Alex Novell has garnered a lot of attention on social media after photos of Alex's injured face were shared on websites like X. For those unaware, MrBasedNYC, real name Jason Itzler, is a convicted criminal who has served time in prison for money laundering, prostitution, and drug charges.
Recently, Jason's Kick channel got suspended with his creator partnership rescinded after he repeatedly tried to forcefully kiss a woman on a stream despite her saying no. Regardless, accusations of assault have surfaced online against MrBasedNYC with Keemstar's @DramaAlert posting a photo of him and Alex Novell's injured face on X.

The post has gone viral, garnering almost a million impressions. A few hours afterward, Alex Novell uploaded a short clip of the altercation on his official YouTube channel.
TikTok creator powEnvy claims the police want MrBasedNYC for felony assault on YouTuber Alex Novell, explains why
As mentioned, MrBasedNYC is quite a controversial figure. According to news reports from The New York Times dating back to 2012, the streamer was indicted on drug-related charges. He was also charged with promoting prostitution and money laundering, with the judge sentencing him to four years in prison.
He has been making IRL content on Kick and has been part of the Creator Partnership program for some time now. It appears a YouTuber named Alex Novell, who has over 20K subscribers, was reportedly making a documentary on MrBasedNYC when he was attacked.
Alex Novell has reposted a video clip from @MelodyMarsIRL on his X account featuring TikTok creator powEnvy who had much to say about the issue.
In the video, powEnvy claimed Alex had come across a police report that apparently named MrBasedNYC as a suspect in the death of a girl named "Julia":
"Alex Novell, a YouTuber who is making videos about MrBased trying to expose him for who he is, recently got hold of a police report showing that MrBased is a very likely suspect in the murder of a young girl named Julia."
powEnvy further states that Alex Novell went to MrBasedNYC's house to confront him on the matter after which the Kick streamer allegedly struck him with a tripod:
"Alex Novell went up to MrBased's house because they have filmed together. He knows where he lives, they live close by. He asked him about it, now MrBased grabbed the cord of out his camera. When Alex tried to reach to get the cord back, MrBased actually struck him in the head with a tripod."
Noting the photos of the YouTuber covered in blood, powEnvy claimed that the police were looking for MrBasedNYC for felony assault and robbery:
"The police are looking for MrBased as we speak. It is a felony assault and robbery."
Alex Novell himself has yet to make a public statement on the matter and has not posted further updates regarding the alleged attack by the Kick streamer.
