Controversial IRL (in real life) streamer Ramsey Khalid Ismael aka Johnny Somali has found himself in trouble once again. During his latest broadcast on September 30, 2024, he was confronted by South Korean authorities in the subway. The streamer has a history of disruptive antics in public, and his latest stream followed a similar pattern.
For context, Johnny Somali was live-streaming himself inside a subway in South Korea, during which he had the TTS (text-to-speech) feature turned on. This meant that fans /viewers could play any audio, and it would sound through his phone's speakers. Given the streamer's already notorious community, the TTS in question was a rather "obscene" one, as described by X.com user @canceljohnnys (translated via Google):
"Johnny Somali starts Korea IRL on day 4. He goes to Lotte World for a KPOP dance class and then plans to meet up with Bongbongirl. He's been getting in trouble for playing obscene audio and TTS on the subway."
Johnny Somali confronted by South Korean police over antics in the subway
Controversial IRL streamer Johnny Somali did not take long to grab the headlines after his return to streaming. He is currently broadcasting on YouTube (17.6K subscribers) after being banned from Kick and Twitch due to his past behavior.
Johnny is currently hosting an IRL series in South Korea and has already encountered trouble on a few occasions. In his latest stream, he caused a stir by playing disruptive audio inside a subway.
Following this stunt, he was confronted by a couple of security personnel/authorities, who ultimately kicked him off the train due to his behavior. A bemused Johnny Somali responded:
"No streaming? (One of the officers nods his head). AfreecaTV? No AfreecaTV? Okay, next stop I go. Taxi, I take a taxi, no problem. Sorry guys. (Talking to the chat) God damn it guys, I am getting pressed. This is crazy. The police are already here. We gotta go on the taxi."
Interestingly, the authorities weren't the only ones who confronted Johnny on the subway. Fellow passengers also asked him to lower the volume, as the audio was disturbing other commuters. Watch the clip here:
Previously, on September 27, during his first day in South Korea, Johnny caused a stir by walking onto the stage of a live show and playing a text-to-speech version of Kim Jong Un's anthem in public.
