Internet star Ben Potter, better known as Comicstorian on YouTube, passed away in a tragic accident on June 8, 2024. As per the Colorado State Patrol's statement to Entertainment Weekly, the 40-year-old creator was reportedly driving his Toyota 4Runner at 9:19 am on the I-25 highway near Fort Collins when the accident occurred. He ran off the interstate and crossed the parallel frontage road multiple times before rolling his car in the accident.
This revelation came a day after his wife, Nathalie, disclosed in a statement on Comicstorian's official X account that he had passed away in an "unfortunate accident". This post, made on June 11, 2024, has since gained over 11.6 million views on X.

Ben Potter was a popular creator known on YouTube, known for his narrations of comic books and manga, streaming games and videos exploring the lore behind certain fictional characters. He covered various series, including Marvel's X-Men, The Avengers, and DC's Batman, among many others. His consistent and engaging content had allowed his fanbase to grow to a whopping 3 million subscribers.
After Potter's untimely passing, the Colorado State Patrol divulged the circumstances of the accident. The creator was reportedly wearing his seatbelt and was the only one inside the car at the time of the accident. Further, no other car was involved in the accident. Impairment or speeding were not deemed to be the causative factors behind the crash, as per the State Patrol.
Despite his usage of the seat belt, Ben Potter succumbed to his injuries and passed away at the scene of the crash. Further investigation into the exact cause of the accident is ongoing.
Potter's wife Nathalie has shared her plans to preserve her husband's legacy and work. She stated that she and the Comicstorian team would possibly continue to further his work through his YouTube channel, and keep his memory alive.
