Twitch VTuber Ironmouse expressed her excitement in a post on X after YouTube unbanned her main and Video-on-Demand channels YouTube. The streamer had been banned from the platform after receiving apparently false copyright claims. Having a whopping 1.14 million subscribers on her main channel, Ironmouse was one of the biggest creators to fall victim to termination due to supposed false copyright claims.
To those unaware, a channel can only receive three copyright strikes in total before the offending channel is removed entirely from the platform. Each strike also holds its own individual penalty as well. This is the fate that had befallen both her channels. With her VOD channel being reinstated first, Ironmouse made an initial post on X, in which she stated:
"Crying tears of joy VOD channel is back! Hopefully the main channel will be back soon! Thank you all so much for the incredible love and support during this time."
Ironmouse posts on X announcing the reinstatement of both her channels on YouTube days after termination
Ironmouse is one of the biggest VTubers in the streaming world right now, rivaling other popular creators such as Kizuna Ai and Gawr Gura in terms of possessing a tight-knit community. Thus, Ironmouse's termination from the platform came as a surprise, especially considering the sheer size of her subscribers and viewers.
She had initially announced the termination of her main channel in a post on X made on September 21, 2024. She claimed that the false copyright strikes were a way to dox her identity, which VTubers like her typically do not reveal, as she would have to provide personal information to appeal these strikes.
In a subsequent post made on X soon after announcing the reinstatement of her VOD channel, she disclosed that her main channel had now become accessible on the website as well. In the second post made by her on September 23, 2024, she said:
"Crying even more now main channel is now back. Thank you all so so much for all the incredible love and support and advice. This has been a very stressful time but I am so happy to be back. I love you guys thank you!"
Ironmouse had also stated earlier that she had a legal team working on the case, possibly implying that she had planned on pursuing legal action against the platform in an attempt to get her channels back on track as soon as possible.
