Destiny calls Asmongold stupid for praising Elon Musk's handling of X and his role in Donald Trump's presidential campaign

Political commentator and Kick streamer Steven "Destiny" recently called out Twitch streamer Zach "Asmongold" for praising Elon Musk's handling of the acquisition of X (formerly Twitter) and his public role in Donald Trump's presidential campaign.

In a recent livestream, Asmongold was watching a video about the evaluation of X's worth since Elon Musk acquired the company. As the streamer praised the Tesla CEO, he also claimed that X was a media tool that changed the outcome of the US Presidental election:

"I love the quote of Elon Musk is a stupid a**hole. He bought Twitter for $44B and now he controls all three branches of government. You know, he used this as a weapon that effectively changed the outcome of an election. It is the most powerful media tool probably in the world right now. And somehow you are grading its viability is about how much someone would buy it for?"

Destiny vehemently opposed this narrative and the Kick streamer went on to call Asmongold stupid:

"Oh god, he is actually so f**king stupid! Holy sh*t, he's a f**king retard."

Destiny then explained about the X's dipping worth:

"When people are valuing the business that you buy, they are not typically thinking, 'Well, you could use it as a subversive tool of propaganda to gain illegitimate control of a state.' That is correct, when you buy a firm, you're usually thinking in terms of valuation like what can you sell the firm for in the future."

"That's called rent-seeking, and it's bad!": Destiny reacts to Asmongold saying Elon Musk is using X to become part of the government

Destiny's initial clip of calling Asmongold stupid went viral after it was shared on social media websites like X and Reddit. After watching it, Asmongold praised the political streamer, acknowledging how listening to the Kick streamer had changed his political views:

"I respect Destiny a lot. Destiny's changed my opinions on a number of things like January 6th."

Asmongold, who has recently been talking about socio-political issues such as abortion on his stream, then added more about Elon Musk and X, claiming that the billionaire was using the social media platform as a loss leader like Stake's strategy with Kick:

"What is Kick? Kick is effectively a loss-leader for Stake. And I think Elon Musk is effectively using X as a loss-leader for Tesla and SpaceX by losing money on it to make more money by entrenching himself into the government. It exists in an ecosystem."

When Destiny came across a clip of Asmongold saying this, he promptly paused it and went off at the Twitch streamer claiming that he was describing "rent-seeking" which, according to the Kick streamer, was bad and mostly illegal:

"That's called rent-seeking, and it's bad! It's considered a bad thing in a liberal capitalist society when you are spending money not on research and development on creating a better product, not on advertising in so far as trying to get your product in front of people. But spending money to alter the regulatory environment to gain an edge."

Britannica defines rent-seeking as "competition for politically protected transfers of wealth" and notes that it "typically produces major social problems." Destiny seemed to agree with this definition, saying:

"It's generally either illegal or highly discouraged!"
