Twitch star Kai Cenat has gone viral after a video of him "hanging" a person during his ongoing Mafiathon 2 subathon emerged online. On November 27, 2024, a 34-second clip from Cenat's livestream surfaced on Reddit and X. In it, an individual was seen with a noose wrapped around his neck, and the streamer was asked to pull one of the two ropes in front of him.
When the New Yorker pulled the one on the right, which had a red-colored handle, the shirtless individual was suspended in the air and appeared to be hanging from the noose.
The situation left everyone on the livestream concerned, and Cenat immediately instructed his cameraperson not to film the scene. He said:
"What the f**k? Wait, no, no! I'm not getting banned! N***a, I might get banned! Is he good? I'll stay here. I'll stay here! Can I stay here?"

Later in the broadcast, it was revealed that the person who'd been "hanged" was YouTuber and magician Max Major, whose stunt on Kai Cenat's stream were part of a planned performance.
The two-time Streamer of the Year award winner played a video shared by Max Major, in which he said:
"What you don't know is that was all according to my plan. See, at the start of my performance, I said that tonight was all about choices. But not just the choices that you made tonight, but the choices that you made since the day that we met. Since the first time we met, you pushed me, you challenged me, and you wanted to see me fail. And I thought tonight, I'll give you exactly what you asked for."
Alluding to his mind-reading capabilities, he continued:
"You see, you thought the game was for me to influence you to make the right choice. But all along, I plan to influence you to make the wrong choice, and I knew you'd pick the red handle."
