Kick and Twitch star xQc was at the Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach, Florida, for Adin Ross' recent stream with Donald Trump. The broadcast has gone viral, with various clips from the one-and-a-half-hour video garnering millions of views on social media.
While many have praised Ross for being able to organize a livestream with a US presidential candidate, it has also caused some backlash.
xQc, who made a brief appearance on the broadcast, has also been called out by a portion of his fanbase after a picture of him wearing a MAGA hat was posted on his subreddit.
Many Redditors condemned the streamer's decision to don Trump's merch "unironically". Some said they are considering not watching the Canadian's content anymore, claiming that money and success have changed him.
"Disappointing honestly, bro let the money change him," wrote Redditor @skmorphism.
"It’s actually depressing seeing him turn into the piece of sh*t he’s become. I can forgive all the other stuff he’s done but this MAGAtard shi* is a bridge too far," said @SturmCr0w.
"I agree, been subbed for 3 years, I know he doesn’t care, but I’m ready to unsub. Dude is farming incels and misogynistic losers for too long. Mods timeout these people instead of banning, and xQc wonders why his chat is dogsh*t. Think it’s time to stop watching," claimed @Pay-Dough.
"i used to be an xqc fan like 3-4 years ago or so, im so happy to see fans like you calling out his current fanbase full of incels and misogynists," said @Sokersmore.
Many users pointed out that xQc can't even vote as he is not a citizen of the United States. Others defended him, claiming he has the right to support his political beliefs.
"He can't even vote so why does it matter if he wear a hat," stated @AdepterOfTruth.
"Why is everyone malding," asked @Hot-Fish-1024.
"man this country is so divided you can’t even like or be friends with someone with different political beliefs," said @owen1915.
xQc met with Donald Trump during Adin Ross Kick stream
Adin Ross had been hyping up his Kick stream with Donald Trump since he announced it last month. He promised a big collaboration after coming off of a long hiatus and certainly delivered on his promise, considering he became the first content creator to host a presidential candidate on their channel, beating out political streamers like HasanAbi and Adin Ross.
The streaming community was excited for the collaboration, especially since xQc was also going to make an appearance. The former Overwatch player did not have much interaction with Trump, but he did shake his hand after he was called over by Ross while they were walking out of the building to show the politician a custom Tesla Cybertruck:
"X, come on outside to the truck."
Ross pointed out xQc's T-shirt, which featured Trump's face, to the former US President:
"Did you check my buddy Felix's shirt?"
Trump took a closer look before saying:
"I love it. I like that."
xQc's subreddit also had a separate post about the T-shirt. Here are some of the reactions to it:
"It's so sad to see how much of a piece of sh*t XQC has become," wrote a Redditor
"Because anyone with an ounce with self-respect and empathy for others wouldn't want to be associated with Trump, he might be doing it for content but this is not a good look," said @Markus_Atlus
"honestly disappointed. sh*ts just cringe," wrote @Undispitedevo
xQc has yet to publicly talk about meeting Donald Trump, but he did clash with Kick streamer Destiny over the latter's views about the Pennsylvinia shooting that occurred a few weeks ago.
