Dr DisRespect addressed the Twitch ban controversy on his comeback (since the scandal) stream and has been making some explosive claims. The YouTube streamer has been getting a lot of backlash over the last few weeks ever since he put up a statement agreeing to have inappropriately texted a minor. However, Dr DisRespect has now insinuated that the person he had supposedly texted using the Twitch Whisper feature was not a minor but over the legal age of consent. Blasting "so-called journalists," the Doc said:
"When you and all these so-called journalists, Cody[The former Twitch employee who accused him of sending inappropriate messages], fired off your Tweets. Did any of you consider that the Twitch user may have been over the legal age of consent at the time of the messages? You didn't. Neither did any of these journalists, neither did Twitch at the time of the ban."
Dr DisRespect claims he purposefully edited the word "minor" out of his statement to bait journalists
After numerous reports claiming he had been banned from Twitch because he sent inappropriate messages went viral online, Dr DisRespect put out a statement where he had initially used the word minor while addressing the controversy. However, he would soon go on to edit the post on X and remove "minor" before adding it back in.
Note: The statement has been deleted.
On his comeback to streaming on September 6, 2024, the YouTuber dropped a bomb. Calling out the former Twitch employee Cody Conners, who had been one of the first to claim he had sent explicit texts, Dr DisRespect claimed that he had edited the word "minor" in his statement on purpose to bait "so-called journalists":
"I wasn't sexting anyone. You also said the word minor, Cody. I even made sure that word was emphasized in my statement, edited, etc. Just to make sure these so-called journalists would pick up on it. And oh boy oh boy did they ever, Champs."
Naturally, Dr DisRespect's claims have garnered a lot of attention on social media with many viewers asking him to leak the alleged texts to prove his innocence.
