Guy Beahm aka Dr DisRespect, has finally given his side of the story in a long post on X regarding the accusations of sexting a minor back in 2017 which allegedly led to Twitch serving him an indefinite suspension. Up to this point, the popular streamer had only denied any wrongdoing, but on June 25, he finally addressed the allegations and confirmed that he had texted messages to an individual on Twitch that "leaned" towards being inappropriate.

While he vehemently pushed back against accusations of criminal behavior and called out people labeling him a "pedophile" for it, Dr DisRespect did "take responsibility" and claimed that he had made a "mistake". He apologized to his community for not talking about it sooner and called them "the f**king best."

The Doc further asserted that he was "not going anywhere":

"Finally, if you're uncomfortable with this entire statement and think I'm a piece of sh*t, that's fine. But I'm not f*cking going anywhere. I’m not the same guy that made this mistake all those years ago."

This is in stark contrast to the conversation Doc had in his latest stream where he had talked about stepping away from the gaming scene after feeling burnt out. However, Beahm did mention he was going to take a family vacation, but made it clear that he was not going to disappear:

"I'm taking an extended vacation with my family as mentioned on stream and I'm coming back with a heavy weight off my shoulders. They want me to disappear... yeah f*cking right."

Dr DisRespect claims the decision to step down from his position at Midnight Studio was "collective"

Apart from addressing the allegations and giving his side of the story, Dr DisRespect also talked about his dealings with the game studio Midnight Society which he co-founded with three esports veterans. On June 24, a statement was shared by the studio's official account on X, where it announced cutting off ties with the streamer due to the controversy.

The statement mentioned that the decision to fire Beahm had been taken after talking to the concerned parties in the case and that while the company had presumed the innocence of the streamer, it could no longer associate with him.

Naturally, Midnight Society's post garnered a lot of attention on social media, considering Dr DisRespect had essentially been pushed out of his own company. The streamer, however, in his more recent post on X, asserted that he had talked about stepping down from his position at the game studio.

In his statement, Dr DisRespect apologized to his friends and colleagues at the company:

"First and foremost I do want to apologize to everyone in my community as well as those close to me, my team, and everyone at Midnight Society Game Studio."

The streamer then stated that people involved with the game studio had collectively decided that he had to step down, a move which he claimed to have supported:

"A lot of people have been left in the dark about what happened yesterday with midnight society and I, and we made the painful decision collectively, to have me step down. Our team is full of incredibly talented and good people that have high career ambitions and families and i'd never want jeopardize the culture we have carefully crafted."

Regardless, it seems that along with taking a vacation with his family, Dr DisRespect is stepping away from the video game scene for now. It remains unclear as to when he will be back.
