Twitch streamer and FaZe Clan CEO Richard "Banks" recently made a post on X and appeared in a video promoting the purchase of a memecoin, a type of cryptocurrency inspired by internet memes or culture. The memecoin being talked about by FaZe Banks was the $MLG coin.

Calling it a good starting point for those stepping into the cryptocurrency market, he made a post within his X community, BANK$ INTERN$, which stated the following:

"I'll be honest if you're an active member of any gaming community and you still haven't exposed yourself to Crypto (which I HIGHLY advise you do this cycle) or still have trouble understanding the cultural side of it or how any of these “memecoins” could run billions, then take a long look at $MLG. Confident enough to say after Frank DeGods investing and the sentiment/their communities reaction to my investment that this is without a doubt the best place to start for the type of person I just described."

Alongside, he also provided a disclaimer for those who are considering pursuing an investment into the memecoin, writing:

"*CONSIDER EVERY DOLLAR INVESTED* "INTO ANYTHING ZERO ALWAYS* I have zero affiliation to this token for team. I haven't been paid in any way shape or form to post this. Full transparency. I won't be considering trimming profits or touching this bag until >$100mcap"

"MLG is perfect entry for somebody interested in gaming": FaZe Banks promotes memecoin in video posted on his X community

FaZe Banks, known popularly for being the leader of the FaZe Clan and his entrepreneurial spirit, has always been a huge proponent of cryptocurrency. Having invested in NFTs (non-fungible tokens) as well, Banks has previously even suggested integrating cryptocurrency into the organization through crypto-games.

Another post made on Banks' X community shows him talking in detail about his views on the $MLG cryptocurrency, which itself is a reference to the Major League Gaming meme aesthetic, which had been a mainstay of internet memes, specifically among fans of Call of Duty game series.

In the video, he said:

"Obviously the average person looks at memecoins that run into billions of dollars and they're like, 'What the f**k is this? How is this possible?'. And MLG is just the perfect entry for somebody specifically in gaming because you're already familiar with all the references, the terminology, the language spoken."

However, he followed it up with a disclaimer once again, clarifying:

"I'm not paid, I do not know the team, I don't have any sort of additional... There's nothing behind the scenes that I know that you guys do not know. I don't have any sort of additional advantage to this. I fully found this on the timeline... The biggest thing above all else is every single dollar you invest into anything for the rest of your lives, whether its crypto, anything else, you should always consider it zero."

In other news, FaZe member Max "Plaqueboymax" was recently caught up in a feud with Canadian rapper Drake. This emerged as Drake made a remark about being potentially "trolled" by Adin Ross for watching Plaqueboymax's broadcasts during a stream with Kick streamer Adin Ross. This was not taken too kindly by the FaZe star, who reacted to the clip in his broadcast.
