YouTube streamer and Team Liquid member Jonas "AverageJonas" declared in a video that he will be quitting Valorant "for good", citing "burnout" that he suffered from playing the competitive shooter so often. He also talked about his love for theorycrafting, the process that uses mathematical analysis to study video game mechanics with the end goal of attaining optimal strategies and tactics.

Explaining that he has not experienced many opportunities for theorycrafting in the first-person shooter, AverageJonas stated:

"Also, the nature of the game being a tactical FPS is that it kind of limits the amount of theorycrafting you could do, compared to a game like, let's say Dota or something else like that."

He further divulged that he had not felt "happy" while broadcasting himself playing Valorant for a while now:

"I think I realized that if I want to do this for many years, I got to focus on what makes me happy... But here's the thing, I haven't really felt happy in a while while streaming Valorant."

In the video, AverageJonas also explained to viewers that his lack of happiness while streaming Valorant had led him to diversify to other games like DOTA. While looking for the "next big game", AverageJonas was invited to a private play test of Valve's upcoming title called Deadlock:

So, I definitely felt lost for a little bit and kind of waited for the next big game to drop... And then, a month ago, I got invited to the private play test of a game by Valve called Deadlock.

Describing the game and its features, he continued:

"Now, Deadlock is a MOBA shooter from Valve that combines elements from shooters like OverWatch and Valorant, but also the tactical and nerdiness of games like DOTA and League of Legends with all theorycrafting and item builds."

He also revealed that Deadlock may prove to be the game his content will focus on in the future:

"The more I play this game, I realize that this kind of sums up everything I want in a game that I want to make content in... So that's why I've decided that this is the new beginning I need and I will be completely quitting Valorant on all my platforms."

This announcement by AverageJonas comes a day after Valve's official announcement of Deadlock. The new title will be a third-person MOBA shooter. Although it is currently under "early development," there are already 31,000 players currently testing the game.
