A fresh set of allegations against YouTube star Jimmy "MrBeast" and Clay "Dream" have emerged regarding them supposedly not paying due prize money to a participant who had been in their collaborative video titled "Minecraft's Got Talent (ft. MrBeast & Dream)". The video was uploaded to Alex "Quackity's" YouTube account in September 2020.
As per the accusations made by the individual on Reddit under the username u/laurenvipham, she had won a $2,000 prize for singing during the Talent show but was awarded only a portion of the prize money by Quackity. No payment was allegedly made by the other two.
Former contestant accuses MrBeast and Dream of non-payment of prize money
MrBeast has been facing a barrage of allegations recently surrounding his treatment of the contestants that participate in his contests, especially his upcoming Prime Video show Beast Games. Contestants have allegedly come out to complain regarding the lack of basic provisions during the competition, including food, water, and medicines.
Now, u/laurenvipham has stated that she tried to make contact with both MrBeast and Dream to provide her their half of the prize money, which was seemingly $500 each, amounting to a total of $1,000:
"I tried contacting them, making a petition, & nothing. I just accepted it and appreciated the kindness and opportunity of the show and what is [sic] has given me. Saying to myself that was busy helping people truly in need. But 4 years later-- seeing this video makes me feel a little ;/"
Within her post on Reddit, u/laurenvipham also stated that she felt the need to share her story regarding the alleged lack of payout following the recent allegations that MrBeast has been embroiled in.
To clarify that she was the contestant and provide "proof," she also shared a video of her describing her experience at the time. She had originally uploaded the video in July 2021. However, she still stated:
"...I'm not looking to cancel MrBeast on my experience, but more so using this moment to be heard."
Scathing allegations have recently been made against MrBeast by a former employee regarding the authenticity of his YouTube videos and a purported practice of "rigging" the videos while also holding "illegal lotteries".
These allegations were contested by a current employee working under MrBeast, who claims to have actually "fired" the former employee who came out with the accusations for "erratic behavior".
