Former Twitch employee claims the platform "lets pedophiles run free every day" amid Dr Disrespect controversy

The ongoing controversy surrounding YouTube streamer Herschel "Guy" Beahm IV, better known as "Dr Disrespect," has captured the attention of almost everyone within the content creation scene. For those unaware, yesterday (June 25), the 42-year-old opened up about a situation, stating that he had indeed messaged a "minor" inappropriately (although he maintains to have no malicious intentions behind it).

This so-called confession sent shockwaves across the community. Since then, many individuals have come forward with their take regarding the controversy.

Rellim (@rellim714), who is currently a Twitch streamer and formerly an employee of the company, stated that he had access to some of the private messages (that were likely sent for review):

"I literally worked in the department that had access to the most data and information. I saw private whispers etc. it was literally my job to investigate daily."

He added:

"I saw things every single day that I wish I never had to see. I always advocated for being a good human. Always expressed with heavy emotion on my streams how Twitch lets pedophiles run free, every day."

Interestingly, he also hinted that he couldn't say much due to safety and legal reasons:

"Wish I could explain more, but wanted to let you guys know, half the s*it you assume is probably true."

Is Dr Disrespect still streaming or has he retired?

The Dr Disrespect situation has been one of the most eventful in the streaming community over the past few days. After years of speculation about his unexplained Twitch ban, the streamer has finally revealed the reasons behind it.

As previously mentioned, he did admit to sending messages to a minor (which ended his journey with Twitch) but categorically denied any accusations of pedophilia. Following that, he also wrote about his future, hinting that he would not retire. He said:

"I'm not f**king going anywhere. I’m not the same guy that made this mistake all those years ago. I'm taking an extended vacation with my family as mentioned on stream and I'm coming back with a heavy weight off my shoulders."
