Streamer, YouTuber, and internet personality Yousef "Fousey" has been surrounded by controversy throughout his career. In 2018 for example, he conducted an event on July 15, which was shut down soon after a bomb threat. After he joined Kick in 2023, on several occasions, Yousef displayed an unpredictable, highly animated persona that concerned his fans.

On October 30, 2024, Fousey was banned on Kick, just two days into his 24/7 streaming marathon. In response, he released a cryptic video on X, in which he threatened to expose the Kick organization and "people in the industry." Fousey was cold and confident in his initial response video, but a follow-up to this post has a completely different tone to it.

While addressing his recent behavior in the post, the streamer references his previous "crash-out" that caused Ed "Eddie" Craven, a co-founder of Kick, to reach out. For context, In August 2023, Fousey was detained in Miami after a public mental health crisis during a live stream.

He called 911, claiming someone was threatening him, which led police to take him for a psychiatric evaluation under Florida’s Baker Act due to erratic behavior.

In his follow-up post, Fousey stated he made a promise to Eddie and Akhil Sarin, Chief Marketing Officer at Kick, to never repeat such an incident:

"Look, I'm going to try my best not to cry, I've been under so much stress, because I promised Eddie and Akhil I wouldn't crash-out like last year."

Fousey suggests he might have multiple personalities

In his recent post, Fousey appeared visibly distraught, crying intensely with his face streaked with tears, expressing emotional distress over his inner conflicts.

The streamer shared that he often feels split between two personas: a composed and empathetic "Yousef" and a more impulsive, unpredictable "Fousey" who emerges in high-stakes, adrenaline-fueled situations:

"My adrenaline shot up and I don't even remember the last 48 hours now that I'm out of it. Now that I calmed down, I'm realizing all the destruction that I caused. Now that my adrenaline dumped and I'm back to Yousef, and I open Twitter to see what Fousey did, I'm like... I feel so much better now though, I feel free."

This Jekyll and Hyde situation Fousey mentions could be part of the reason for his disappearance in early October 2024. For those out of the loop, on October 3, the streamer's team publicly expressed concern about his safety, stating they had lost contact with him before a scheduled appearance in Atlanta.

This led to widespread fan worry, but Fousey later reassured everyone in a live stream that he was safe, although he criticized his team for sharing the issue publicly.

He was escorted by the police for his well-being and also disclosed plans to enter a mental health care facility for an 80-day program, highlighting his ongoing mental health challenges and commitment to seeking help.
