Popular Twitch streamer Jason "Jasontheween" has shared his thoughts on TikTok restoring its services in the United States. For those out of the loop, the ByteDance-owned platform was suspended on January 18, 2025. However, in less than 24 hours, the video-sharing application issued a statement informing users that they were "in the process of restoring service" in agreement with their service provider.

Furthermore, TikTok thanked Donald Trump for "providing necessary clarity and assurance" in this regard:

"In agreement with our service providers, TikTok is in the process of restoring service. We thank President Trump for providing the necessary clarity and assurance to our service providers that they will face no penalties providing TikTok to over 170 million Americans and allowing over 7 million small businesses to thrive. It's a strong stand for the First Amendment and against arbitrary censorship. We will work with President Trump on a long-term solution that keeps TikTok in the United States."

During a recent livestream, Jasontheween commented on the situation, saying that Donald Trump's decision to "unban" the platform in the US was a "power play." The streamer elaborated:

"Yo, you know what I realized? TikTok getting banned and getting unbanned by Trump, is low-key a power play by Trump. It's good PR for Gen Z. I saw someone on Twitter say, 'Yo! This was one the best things Trump has ever done in his years of being President.' What do you mean? It's f**king TikTok!"

What have other streamers said about TikTok restoring its services in the United States?

On January 19, 2025, Twitch streamer Hasan "HasanAbi" shared his thoughts on TikTok resuming service in the US. In a tweet, the political commentator shared a screenshot of TikTok's welcome message, citing the platform's restoration as a "result of President Trump's efforts."

Claiming that the 78-year-old President elect was "being credited as a savior to 170 million Americans," HasanAbi tweeted:

"Democrats gave an unimaginable W to Trump by pulling this insanely incompetent and unpopular decision. Can't believe that Trump, who wanted (to) ban TikTok initially, is now getting the most expensive free ad by being credited as its savior to 170 million Americans. Master class."

In addition to HasanAbi, Darryl "DDG," a well-known Twitch streamer and musician, has claimed that Donald Trump intentionally got the short-form video-sharing platform suspended in the United States only to eventually take credit for restoring it.
